Congratulations to our HOWL-o-ween Costume Contest Winners! Best Overall went to crowd favorite Meatball dressed as spaghetti and meatballs, Best Philly Jawn went to Cat-paccino, and Best Team went to Henry and his mom dressed as Jafar and Iago (all pictured first)! Thank you to everyone who attended the costume contest event virtually and in person! We wish that we could include all of the entries from the contest this weekend in this post because every single costume was so... creative and adorable! Our judges took FOREVER deciding winners because you all went all out! Altogether, you all raised over $1,600 for The Morris Animal Refuge. And because a generous donor matched each dollar raised with two dollars, the event raised over $4,800 for the refuge! Thank you everyone! Meet our pet (squad) of the week, the Auggie trio of sisters! These girls are about 3-4 months old, and are all young child and dog friendly. They are litter trained, eating hard food, and ready to come home to your loving arms! These three cuties are all FeLV positive which means they'll need special care throughout their lives to keep them healthy. Check out how their individual personalities have been shining through in foster below! 1) Adventure Cat (Autumn - Dark Tabby), was the first little girl to pop out of her travel home, and earned her name immediately. She is always the first to enter any room, meet a new friend be they human or dog, and to tell her sisters that the coast is clear; they're safe! 2) Bandit (Auggie - Tuxedo), is so playful! She earned her name by being a toy thief, and in the playful ambushes she will pull on her sisters. She is so loving, and until she could no longer fit, insisted on being a shoulder percher on just just about anyone she could reach. 3) Shy Guy (Aspen - Light Tabby), is the biggest snuggle bug of the group. When picked up, she will begin to purr and cuddle almost immediately. Let's be honest, the cutest Halloween costumes are pet costumes! The Bourse and The Morris Animal Refuge invite Philadelphians and their furry friends to the food hall’s 5th st. patio for the ultimate fall fashion show, pet costume contest, and fall fest, Saturday October 24th from 1PM - 3PM! Tickets are $10 and include pet entry into the contest, a strut down the red carpet, plus one fall-themed photo of pets in their Howl-o-ween best. For those unable to attend the event bu...t would still like to participate, there is an option to submit photos virtually via Instagram or Facebook with the $10 virtual entry ticket! Virtual tickets are also great if you want to enter your cat into the contest.
