All Lottery Gun/Money raffle tickets were sold. Special Thanks to Kevin Plasterer, who sold 300 tickets! It was suggested, with all in favor, to give Kevin a gift certificate to a restaurant of choice for his extraordinary efforts toward this successful fundraiser. Congratulations Kevin and Thanks to LeErin Plasterer, II, for managing another successful Lottery ticket fundraiser.

Treasurer Jerry Harness presented proposed 2021 budgets for Shady Grove Ruritan Club and Shady Grove Improvement Association. Both budgets were based on anticipated COVID 19 pandemic restrictions being lifted by mid-year 2021. After a detailed review and discussion of each, a motion was made and seconded to approve both budgets as presented with all in favor, none opposed; motion carried. Secretary Bill Berger will send copies of both proposed budgets by email to Club members for their review and approval.

Bill Pfoutz provided an update on a potential chicken BBQ fundraiser. A cost estimate for custom made racks is $1,500.00. This would likely need to be a long-term project in order to be profitable. We would also benefit from someone with BBQ experience. All agreed to table this idea for now pending further research on current BBQ’s offered in the area. The idea for sponsoring a BBQ cook-off event is still being considered.

President Shawn recommended the US flag displayed on the outside flag pole at the Community Center be replaced with a new one and that we should consider adding a light to illuminate this flag sometime in the near future. The current US flag measures 3’x5’, which is too small for the size of the flagpole. A 4’x6’ size would be proper.
