Tech. Sgt. Aaron Thompson is one of several United States Air Force Airmen working with us, providing weather information that is crucial to conduct our mission...s safely. Thompson originally joined the military to pay for school. He is currently enrolled at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and wants to fly someday. His favorite sport is hockey and he loved watching Tie Domi because he was a "small brawler" and loved his tenacity. Although he wears an Air Force uniform, he recently earned an Army Commendation Medal for his service to the 28th ECAB. This Keystone Spotlight shines on Pfc. Joshua Rager, a 28th Infantry Division intelligence analyst with Bravo Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion. Rager, of New Freedom, joined the Pa. Army National Guard in the fall of 2019 because he thought military service would be an interesting experience. He says he enjoys the camaraderie he’s found with other soldiers in his unit. So far, honestly, it’s been pretty fun, says Rager, a 2018 graduate of Susquehannock High ...School. It’s been a lot better than I expected. On the civilian side, he works full-time as a manager at an auto parts store and previously had worked with a security company at various sites in southeastern Pennsylvania. In addition to his military occupational specialty as an analyst, he plans to acquire the radiology specialist MOS, through the Army’s 46-week course. I’ve always had an interest in the medical field, Rager explains. Rager hopes to turn that Army training into civilian employment as an X-ray technician through the U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success (PAYS) program. PAYS is designed to help soldiers prepare for a career by connecting them with employers who understand the skill, discipline and work ethic military service members bring to a business. See more

MG McCormack, 28ID Commander, and COL Cooper, Chief of Staff, visited the 128th BSB on Wednesday February 10th at Crane Armory in Pittsburgh, PA. The Division l...eadership met with full time staff and took part in open discussion regarding the PAARNG's role in supporting COVID-19 response with the very soldiers who are currently on orders supporting that cause.
