Stephen Zirkle is the lead pastor at our Somerset church. Stephen comes with experience in district leadership on the North Central Ohio District.... He served as District NYI President, a member of the District NMI Council and also served as an elected delegate to General NMI Convention in 2017. From our District: Prayer emphasis for March: RENEW YOUR MIND Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will isHis good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2(NIV) 1. Make the verse personal LORD, I choose to not conform to the pattern of this world but desire to be transformed by the renewing of my mind. So that I will be able to test and approve what YOUR will isYOU...R good, pleasing, and perfect will. 2. Spend time with those in your household Pick a day to have a media fast in your home. Fasting is choosing to refrain from something in order to focus attention on something else. In this case, turning off the computer, TV, phone or other devices that provide influence on what is going into your mind. Partnering with that, as a family and/or personally make a list of ways that you can fill your mind with things that would be life-giving and soul nourishing. 3. Read and Pray other Scriptures about Renewing Your Mind Colossians 3:2, 16 Romans 8:6 Philippians 4:8 James 1:5 4. Living in Community Answer the following questions as they apply to how you are living out God’s will for you in your community: 1) What do others hear coming out of my mouth? 2) What do others see me doing? 3) What do people who know me say to others about me? This week, prep for the concrete floors are going on down on the classroom level. It caused a layer of dust to go into the sanctuary upstairs, so we spent several hours at the beginning trying to clean and dust the entire upstairs. We got the beginnings of a sound booth started, but not finished. So thankful for the few that came to help today. It was an extremely long day. They didn’t get union breaks (Debbie Ryan), but they still didn’t complain. My husband, Kevin, came to help after working a full shift at work. No pictures of anyone doing anything, but the proof is in what was accomplished.
