This past weekend the 18th Annual East Coast Race Against Cancer (RAC) was held at LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, PA where we raised an astounding $21,000 for t...he American Cancer Society! The 2nd highest annual total in our 19 year history of the RAC brining our grand total to over $193,000!!! With 194 unique drivers totaling 391 race entries across 12 classes in attendance, we were blessed with cool, sunny fall weather for the 3 day race. Many of the region's top team drivers from RCAmerica / Xray, Team Associated, Mugen Seiki Racing, Tekno RC and Hot Bodies Racing along with many journeyman racers battled on the large, fast layout. Congratulations to the winners and podium finishers, the racing during the Sunday mains was some of the best I've seen in a very long time. My utmost appreciation to Kevin & Christa Mummah for hosting the RAC for a 4th consecutive year. We're truly fortunate and blessed for the partnership with LCRC Raceway, without them there would be no RAC. Outstanding people, phenomenal facility and the finest customer service in the RC community. Its no wonder ROAR has selected LCRC Raceway to host the 1/8 Nitro Nationals in June 2021. Huge thank you to the LCRC Raceway staff, track crew, volunteers and family for making this race a huge success. A truly outstanding effort from race director Thomas Kauffmann with assistance from Jared Bardin for the long hours on the mic keeping the race program moving flawlessly. I also must give massive thanks to Ellie Mummah, Kendall Macanick and Cheryl Miller for assisting me with the fundraising efforts and the prize giveaways throughout the weekend. I could not have done it without your help. Another year of amazing support from our sponsors and partners produced an impressive assortment of product for our very popular RC raffles. Along with our general raffle, 2 side raffles and our t-shiurt sales we had one of our most successful fundraisers ever. It was a true please to see my old racing friends, meeting so many new folks and seeing the all of the RAC supporters again. It's simple...because of YOU attending the race and the generous participation in the fundraisers we're able to raise $21,000 in less than 3 days! Thank you so very much!! As I reflect back on the weekend, our success and the stories of battles both won and lost, it drives me to continue the RAC for another year. Therefore, the 2021 East Coast Race Against Cancer will be held at LCRC Raceway on September 17-19, 2021. I hope together we can make next year's event a huge success. Please spread the word both inside and outside the racing community and help raise support as we continue the legacy of the RAC where we Race for a CauseRace for a Cure!
