We’ve taken the next step in our plan to cautiously reintroduce normal operations at the Allen F Pierce Free Library. Starting Tuesday, July 7, 2020 our adult, teen and tween patrons will be able to browse the stacks for books, audio books and DVDs to check out. Of course in these times masks will be required as will gloves or sanitizing hands prior to browsing. We’ve also designated a desk in our computer area for those using their laptop to access our Wi-Fi hot spot. ...The library restroom remains available for emergency use only. Users will be responsible for sanitizing it after use according to the protocols posted in the restroom. Library access is still by the Fenner Street front door, however, handicap access is available at the backdoor just knock or ring for assistance. For patron and staff safety, all library transactions will continue to handled at the shielded portion of the front librarian’s desk. When we are able to accommodate children’s play and browsing activities, library group programs, patron socializing, public meetings, etc we’ll let you know. Until then, please stay safe and together we will all help overcome this pandemic. See more

Media Maven Volunteer(s) needed. The guy currently maintaining our website and Facebook page is 77 years old (that's me)! It is about time we found someone younger who knows how to best use our current and new digital media outlets to show the world what our library offers. A maven is an 'expert' and that's what we need. If you have the skills, are creative, and would like to showcase your talents, we can provide the opportunity. Build your resume while helping build the library's community presence. Contact Curt Bayer at 570-596-3086, or Library Director Steve Bolt at the library.
