The article outlines how Ted’s wife Laura watched him transform from a tenderhearted and fun-loving father, husband, and businessman into someone who lost his social edge and communication skills, and became tired and withdrawn. He’s just not the same guy, she says. I want him back. There is still limited awareness about early-onset dementias. When people come in with cognitive complaints in their 40s or 50s, nobody believes them, explains Liana G. Apostolova, a professor of neurology at Indiana University School of Medicine and the Indiana Alzheimer's Disease Research Center.
