An important message to our wonderful patients : Dear Parents,... It is great to be back in the office caring for your children again! We are committed to providing exceptional care to all of our patients. As we emerge from the COVID-19 shelter-at-home, we have an enormous number of patients that need to be re-appointed. Be assured, we are doing everything we can to accommodate as many people as we can while abiding by the guidelines that are in place to maintain the health and safety of our patients and staff. Under the new guidelines we are only able to see half of the patients that we would have seen on a daily basis. Therefore, we have made the following changes to our missed/canceled appointment policy. 1. We will make several attempts to confirm your child’s appointment. If we cannot personally confirm the appointment, it will be removed from our schedule. 2. If we do personally confirm your appointment and you miss it, you will be charged $25 for the missed appointment. 3. Please call our office at least 24 hours prior to your appointment if you need to change or cancel it to avoid being charged a $25 fee. You may leave a confidential message on our answering machine 24hrs a day. Unfortunately, when one patient cancels without giving enough notice, they prevent another patient from being seen. We miss your children and their smiling faces! We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health in these challenging times. As an office of moms, we recognize the unprecedented impact COVID-19 has had on our children’s lives. We empathize with the changes and uncertainty they have faced. Like your family, our team has faced many challenges during the shelter-at-home period and are looking forward to resuming office hours. While many things have changed, one thin...g has remained the same: our commitment to your children’s dental health, safety, and overall well-being. We are gearing up to reopen in stages. In the initial phase, we will need to focus on those patients with emergent and urgent dental needs, such as those with existing treatment that had to be postponed or cancelled due to the crisis. During the first phase, it will also be necessary to see a reduced volume of patients on a daily basis, to comply with guidelines on social distancing and infection control from state and national agencies. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this process. You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example: Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in our office. We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed. You will see that our waiting room will not have magazines, children’s toys, electronic games and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you are offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. Infection control has always been a top priority for us, and we have always been committed to not simply meeting, but surpassing the many requirements from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the American Dental Association (ADA). Our response to COVID-19 is comprehensive and thorough. We are prepared to meet your family’s dental needs and look forward to providing you with the best and safest experience as we continue to navigate the recovery process of our community together.
