Clinical Trial Day is celebrated every May 20th. We at the Altoona Center for Clinical Research are proud to have been a part of the clinical trial community fo...r the past 29 years. We have had the pleasure of working as part of a team with many other sites on the national and global scale to get many medications to the approval process by the FDA. We want to thank our other sites, our Principal Investigators, research coordinators and many other of our staff members for their dedication to advancing medical research. We also want to take the time to the thank all of you who have volunteered in clinical research trials. Without your time and caring commitment none of these trials would have been able to occur and go on to help others who suffer with the same conditions. Thank you all and happy Clinical Trials Day!

This morning our office administered our first Moderna COVID-19 vaccine shot! We have a limited supply of Moderna COVID vaccine. If you have not received the COVID vaccine, please speak with your provider if you are interested in receiving it. If you have Medicare, we need a copy of your Medicare card, even if you have a Medicare advantage plan, at the time of your vaccine administration. ... There is no charge for the vaccine itself, but, there is a charge for having the vaccine administered, which is covered by insurance. For more information please call us at 814-693-0300 ext. 0.

A T T E N T I O N P A T I E N T S EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, ALTOONA ARTHRITIS & OSTEOPOROSIS CENTER and ALTOONA CENTER FOR CLINICAL RESEARCH: WILL BEGIN ALLOWING ONE VISITOR PER PATIENT TO ACCOMPANY HIM OR HER TO THE EXAM ROOM. THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES:... TEMPERATURE CHECK UPON ARRIVAL MASKS WORN CORRECTLY (See illustration below)100% OF THE TIMENO EXCEPTIONS. (You will be asked to leave the room if not followed.) MAINTAIN A 6-FT DISTANCE FROM OTHERS. After seeing the physician, physician assistant or nurse, the visitor will be asked to return to the main waiting room if the patient needs to have blood work or x-ray studies. We’ve revamped our setup a bit for the safety of all our visitors and staff members so bear with us as we adjust to this new system.
