Thank you, Diane Kemper, for the very generous donations of Chewy e-gift cards purchased through our Chewy.com Wish List (link below). And a thank you also to the anonymous Chewy donor of dog leashes and collars. We are so grateful for our community of donors. https://www.chewy.com/g/antietam-humane-society_b65479511
AHS will be closed December 23rd-25th for Christmas, and with so many folks staying home because of Covid, it is the purrfect year to foster a shelter pet over the howliday! Just submit an adoption application on our webpage or stop into the shelter. Once approved, you can schedule a time on December 22nd to meet with the available animals and see who you would like to celebrate the holiday with!
If you would like to get the animals anything for Christmas, please see our Christmas Wish List below, or find our Amazon.com and Chewy.com Wish Lists in our About section on our Facebook page. Thank you for your support!
Lola, formerly Doretta, just finalized her adoption. This sweet pup looks like she is fitting right into her new home!
**DOKKEN UPDATE** From day one, this boy stole his foster mom's heart and decided he found his forever home and wasn't going anywhere! Today, they made it official! Congratulations, Dokken and parents, on finding each other. He is one lucky pup, but we think his parents are even luckier!
Thank you for the dog toy donations that were sent to us through Chewy!! Our pups love their toys!
We have more winter cat houses available for purchase with a monetary donation. Big thank you to Connie, the shelter buddies coordinater, for making all of these to help keep the outside kitties warm.
Happy Home Update from Jenny! She is doing well and dearly loved in her forever home and enjoys her car rides.
Saturday Caturday! Meet our "Pet of the Day" Lola! Two year old Lola came to us as a stray in December 2019. Her favorite toys are sparkly pom poms and Lola will bat them around until they are destroyed into dozens of pieces. Lola is likely to follow you around the house and beg for attention whenever she is not on a mission to decimate her cat toys. Lola is ready to find her purr-fect home. She has been spayed, vaccinated and micro chipped. Apply to adopt Lola today and share her to help her find her purr-fect home!
Meet Pickles and Mimi! Our "Pets of the Day! These two female guinea pigs have been with us since October and are still squealing and chattering to find a forever home. They would benefit from more socialization but as with most guinea pigs food is the way to their hearts. Stop in to meet them and apply today to adopt!
Thank you to the awesome person who donated cat chow and litter to us through Chewy.com! We appreciate you!
These are the cats and small animals currently available (check back for updated photos and bios).
Happy Home Update from Harry and Hagrid! Here is what their owners had to say: The first picture is Hagrid and Harry along with the new big brother Remy playing a catch the mouse game on the ipad. The 2nd picture is Hagrid. He looks very regal with his new collar. We are so happy for your Harry and Hagrid!
Meet Moxie! Our "Pet of the Day"! Agile Moxie is true to her name and this ball of energy is ready to roll. She came to us in October 2019 and is almost two years old. Moxie does great with other cats and is currently hanging out with five others in our cattery. She bounds and rolls with them for quite sometime but always takes a break for her afternoon cat nap. Since coming to us she has been spayed, vaccinated and micro chipped. Now this spunky girl just needs a home of her own. Apply to adopt Moxie today! This sweet girl has been with us for far too long. Share Moxie to help her find a home of her own!
Meet Remi! Our "Pet of the Day"! Three year old Remi is a bundle of energy and is eager to run and get all of that energy out. He came to us in July when his owners were moving and could not take him along. Poor Remi is not doing well in the kennel environment and is becoming depressed and is not the bouncy Remi we are used to. Remi does well with other dogs and knows some basic commands but would benefit from more work with leash manners. Due to his energy and playful nature, Remi will need to be in a home without children under 13. If you are ready for lots of walks, engaging playtime, and some training come meet Remi and see if he is the pup for your home! Share Remi and help him find his forever home!

Meet Pickles and Mimi! Our "Pets of the Day"! These two girls are looking for love and a home that is knowledgeable about guinea pig care. They love their veggies and squeal with joy when they get fresh hay. Stop in today to meet them and apply to adopt!

Happy Halloween from all the dogs and cats at AHS! Remember to keep candy out of reach of your pets and to not dress them up in costumes unless they are comfortable with it. Here's a few of our pups sporting their costumes while they wait to find forever homes.
