A recurring dream

TGIF! I just finished my last project for the week and it turned out BEAUTIFULLY!!! This custom rag quilted purse if fully lined, has quilted straps, interior pockets and a metal magnetic closure. It also has a piece of fabric covered plastic webbing to stabilize the bottom of the purse. This is the first one I have ever made and I really enjoyed working on it!

I have had so much recent interest in my t shirt rag quilts! I am currently taking orders and scheduling appointments with clients. With my masks being reversible, it means that holiday or seasonal masks can be worn long after the season passes by simply reversing the side you wear facing out. It also means that all masks left at the Market past season are easy to rehome. I used neutral colors on the back of the kids Holiday masks, and now the extra masks are ready to be donated!

I just had a photo shoot with my latest project. They are GORGEOUS and I could not be happier with how they turned out! I was given 2 quilts to potentially use both for this project but I am happy with my choice to just use one.

As much as I love making new quilts....I *might* like making new things out of old quilts more. Maybe.

Cloth Face Masks Cotton Face Masks are being sold thru my Facebook page. This album includes some of the masks I have made this Spring. I have made over 4,000 masks so far. Fabric selection is constantly changing as I work thru my own stash of fabric and as more fabrics are acquired. I have not been giving fabric choices and I am unable to guarantee any fabric remaining available. I am so grateful for each and every one of you who have supported my small business this year! You have no idea how much you have all helped our family navigate the muddy waters of 2020! What started as a humble attempt to help local home health care workers have PPE turned into way more than I could have ever imagined. Well over 4,000 masks later and countless other projects I have helped support my family from my favorite place....in front of my sewing machine at home wit...h my children. I am so grateful and excited to be back to sewing full time and can't wait to see what the new year brings! Warm wishes to all of you and Happy New Year!

I mailed out this custom order yesterday. 3 Lavender and 3 Peppermint Rice Therapy Wraps. I have fit 6 but could probably fit 7 or 8 into a Large Flat Rate USPS box to ship. I charge $20 to ship a flat rate box for those who are interested!

My love of making T shirt quilts directly correlates to my love of wearing t shirts. I love being handed a collection of shirts that all hold meaning to their owner because I totally get it and love that others feel the same way. I am also a very tactile person and no two t shirts are created equal. They all have their own feel and it change with wash and wear. Every single one of these t shirts had their turn being the favorite as this young woman was growing up. They were all so soft and loved...such an honor to bring them all together for this special gift!

I hope everyone is enjoying this time and is able to spend quality time with their families! I am feeling motivated to take care of a number of administrative tasks and apologize for blowing up the feed with photo uploads! I will be organizing photo albums and working to make this page more organized and user friendly for all of my clients! In the meantime...I still have a number of the incredible popular Rice Theray Wraps at the Market and I am always available to discuss custom orders via Messenger!

This memory quilt was the last big project I squeezed in, determined to complete it before Christmas...even though it was requested weeks ahead of time with an understanding that I may run out of time! And this is also the first surprise memory blanket I have ever made. This both made me nervous ( hoping the recipient liked it) and impressed me ( that such a venture was accomplished undetected)! With every Memory Quilt I make, I hope that bringing sentimental items of loved ones that are no longer with us out of storage and giving them new life and purpose in our daily lives is a comfort and helps to keep memories and stories alive for families.

Good Morning! I am loving the SUNSHINE today and eager to start sharing the special custom orders I made this Holiday season! I will be posting the 3 quilts and the Memory Pillow I made as I hear from my clients that the gifts have been given. ... I love the way this quilt turned out! A drawer full of shirts became a tribute to great memories over many seasons at Murrysville Dek Hockey. Instead of being a pile of shirts shuffled around in a drawer...new life and purpose is found in the form of a warm and cozy quilt!

A sneak peak of our hand made Holiday, most creative gift in our home this morning, and our Winter Wonderland we have today. Love and Light to you and yours and I hope today finds everyone warm, safe and healthy. What a wild week this has been! 60+ Rice Therapy Bags and 100 pounds of rice later....ending this run with some new Penguins fabric I found today for a special request! I have finished my last quilt of the year! ( Yeah!!) I decided to move onto Rice Bags and realized I had a stash of vintage floral flannel! ( Double Yeah!!! ) I just made this set for a custom order. A neck therapy rice bag with a matching small bag to fit over eyes. The rice is scented Peppermint and this set will be great for soothing headaches. ... Would you like a set made for you? Just ask! I can make unscented, peppermint or lavender.

I have a long day of quilting ahead! My last special surprise quilt for gift giving this Christmas should be finished today! A sudden school shutdown has me switching gears from quilts back to masks and Rice bag prep, and grateful that I am able to work from home and be available for times like these. Hoping to complete some projects and prepare new inventory for this coming weekend, and ready to watch the snow fall!

I was up and at it early today! Just finished cutting quilt blocks for my next t shirt rag quilt! I just love making these quilts and I am excited to be making 2 more that will be Christmas surprises this year!

I completed the absolute sweetest and softest blanket today! A wee one has asked for a Santa blanket for Christmas. Santa and his elves are busy on one side of the blanket and the super soft and whimsical snowflakes adorn the opposite side. Such a cheery and cozy blanket that will ship out in the morning to make it under the tree in time! One blanket completed and 2 quilts to go! I will also be taking rice bag orders this week that will be ready for pick up before Christmas!

I stopped to take inventory after such a busy weekend and took some photographs of my mask inventory on hand at Market. I will be adding more prints and masks thru the week in preparation for this coming weekend but wanted to share what was available!
