Our swimming team traveled to Penn Trafford this evening to take on the Water Warriors. Even though they did not come out victorious, there was a great overall team effort! Go Hawks!

For the fourth night in a row, Hawks Win! Hawks Win! Hawks Win! Congrats to our River Hawks girls basketball team on a section win against Fox Chapel this evening with a final score of 51-36! Your Hawks are 2-0! Emma Paul was the leading scorer tonight with 22 points, but a great overall team effort! The River Hawks are back in the Hawks Nest on Tuesday night as they take on the Indiana Indians! JV tip is at 6 and varsity set for 7:30, and it will be broadcasted live on the High Top Sports Network! Go Hawks!

Breaking news regarding our girls basketball match-up against Fox Chapel! JV game is canceled and varsity tip is now at 6:30. The game will be live streamed on the High Top Sports Network. Go Hawks!

After a month delay we are excited to start having some basketball action in the Hawks Nest for the regular season next week! While we are excited about the start of the regular season both our JV and Varsity boys and girls basketball teams will be hosting scrimmages this weekend. Due to these events being scrimmages they are closed to fans for this weekend. Due to this, we will be live streaming these scrimmages on our Facebook page this week for families and fans to watch. ...Please note that we will be filming these scrimmages in our press box which has recently had some connectivity issues so there could be some delays in the action, but we will try our best to show you the work our student athletes have put in during this unique offseason. The following is our scrimmage schedule for this week: Boys JV/Varsity- Friday, January 8th vs West Shamokin with a tip-off at 6 PM Girls JV/Varsity- Saturday, January 9th vs Freeport with a tip-off at 10 AM. Go Hawks!

Attention to the Senior Class of 2021: Scholarship applications through the Armstrong County Community Foundation are now open as of today! We have had many AHS students receive scholarships from the Armstrong County Community Foundation in the last, and we are hoping that you will be rewarded many of these scholarships at the end of the school year. If you have any further questions about scholarships through the foundation please do not hesitate to contact your guidance counselor!

Remember we will be starting remote instruction on Tuesday, December 1st. Students are reminded to log on daily. Watch all materials presented by your teachers and keep up with your assignments. Your teachers will be live during your scheduled class time. If you are unable to join them live please be sure to view the recorded lectures/demonstrations and keep up with the instruction and your assignments daily. Unlike last spring, due dates are being established. If you cannot meet a deadline, please be sure to be in contact with your teacher.

The following is important information regarding high school students who will need a Chromebook during our distance learning for the week after Thanksgiving. We will have a chromebook distribution in the high school office on Monday from 8 until 2. This distribution is for high school students, and we will be passing out one per family at this point. Chromebooks must be returned to the office upon our return to in-person instruction. We must have a parent signature on our financial responsibility form in order to take one of our devices.
