In Alpha Sigma Tau, we strive to contribute our share to the progress of mankind. The sisters of the Gamma Tau chapter believe Black Lives Matter. We believe it is our responsibility to speak out against racism and take part in building a nation of equity and justice for the progress of mankind. As part of this, we are raising money for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. We support the mission of the NAACP to "secure the political, educational, so...cial, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of all persons". We recognize that the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor are only three recent examples from an extensive history of racism in America. The struggle for equality, justice and peace is long and hard. Thus, the Gamma Tau chapter of AST is commited to continuing to contribute to the progress of racial justice locally and nationally. We are dedicated to including Black women, women of color and indigenous women as we advocate for women's wellness, and we are committed to upholding our ideals of graciousness and respect in all our contacts. All donations will be dedicated in honor of Breonna Taylor, who would be here today, contributing her share to the progress of mankind, as a frontline worker, fighting against COVID-19, as well as against the injustices of racism. The sisters of AST have been so bummed about missing the opportunity to connect with each other & with interested individuals due to the unexpected end of our semester. With this being said, we are super excited to start an informational scavenger hunt for you to receive any information that you may have missed receiving at LVC Live or if you’ve recently become interesting in joining our sisterhood. GRADUATION POST! Blair’s favorite AST memory is participating in Greek week and watching the talent shows! Blair’s future plan is to be a teacher at a Title I school in Philadelphia beginning in the fall! CONGRATULATIONS BLAIR!
