Parents/Guardians of SRU October 28, 2020 Parents and Guardians of S.R.U. Students, As you all may know, our elementary school had three COVID-19 positive cases within the building yesterday. One asymptomatic staff member and two students. We have been working closely with the Department of Health to identify close contacts and any potential close contacts. The administration and staff at S.R.U. have contacted many families over the past 24 hours and we are so thankf...ul for the unwavering support and cooperation of all our families throughout this challenging and difficult time. Due to the complexity of these COVID positive cases and with the recommendation of the Department of Health we will continue with remote learning for all S.R.U. students through Tuesday, November 3rd. In-Person learning will resume on Wednesday, November 4th. You will receive additional information this evening on how to sign up for meal distributions and material pickups if needed. We understand that this is a burden for many families but is necessary for the health and safety of all our students, faculty, and staff. We will do all we can to assist families during this time. If you need anything please feel free to contact the S.R.U. Elementary School main office at (570) 888-7766. The health and safety of our students are just as important to us as their education. For us, the most important people in our health and safety protocols are the parents and caregivers. You are our first defense against a COVID outbreak in our schools. I implore everyone to continue your daily health screenings. If you or your child are sick, please do not send them to school. If you have been exposed to COVID-19, please notify the office and do not send your child to school. If you or your child have recently had a COVID test, again, please notify the office and keep them home until you get your results. If you ever have a question or are undecided if you should send your child to school, please call us and we will gladly work with you. For additional questions about COVID-19, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Health website at health.pa.gov. If you have any questions or concerns about the information contained in this letter, please contact your building principal at any time. Sincerely, Craig Stage Superintendent AASD

AAHS Covid19 Update 10/27/2020 Dear Wildcat Parents/Guardians, We were recently made aware that a student in the Athens Area High School is confirmed positive for COVID-19. We are sending our best wishes to this student and their family. Please understand that the health information, including the names of the positive cases, is confidential to protect their privacy. Out of precaution, and until we get final confirmation from The Department of Health, we have asked... some potential close contacts to quarantine. The student was last in the AAHS on Thursday, October 22nd. Overall, we have had 15 COVID-19 cases across the district within our student body or faculty/staff this year. Currently, 10 cases are considered active and under a quarantine or isolation. The rest of the individuals have fully recovered and have returned to school/work. As a community, it is critical that we continue to do all we can to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 for the health and safety of our students and staff. In the recent weeks, Bradford County has seen an uptick in cases and has been identified as a county in the Substantial level. Our priority is to keep schools open to our students for as long as it is safe for our students and staff to do. For additional questions about COVID-19, please visit the Pennsylvania Department of Health website at health.pa.gov. If you have any questions or concerns about the information contained in this letter, please contact our building principals at any time. Sincerely, Craig Stage Superintendent Athens Area School District See more
