Mary and her son Neil having a wonderful Sunday together at Dutch Springs. She said they had two wonderful dives and felt she was getting the hang of it. Takes a few dives to start to get fully comfortable and in the groove. It only gets better and better.

The long awaited neon signs finally got finished. We started them over a year ago but with everything didn’t get done till a few weeks ago. Just got them in the windows n lite up. Thanks to G&L’s Sign Factory for getting them done. And they will be redoing the sign at the street to bring the colors back that faded in the sun over the years.

The water is not that cold but the air is getting chilly. How nice to come out of the water and not have to take a cold wet wetsuit off. Another drysuit course comes up on November 7th.

Shiny shiny Our long awaited brand new compressor arrives We had planned for this to be installed back in March but with all that was going on it was not able to arrive until now. Our previous unit was great and we are thankful for the many years of service it provided us. Excited for this new efficient model and twice the pumping capacity.

This just in. We are going to offer night diver specialty after all this year. For those that wanted to take it it starts this Saturday evening for the first dive. Then again sept 12 & 19. One night dive each Saturday evening. If you would like to do this course we must hear from you by Thursday so we can put you on the list at Dutch. If you did night diver in your advanced course within the last year there is a way to skip this first class if you can not make it but really it’s just another dive and who doesn’t want to do another dive anyway. Let us know via email [email protected]. You can also call the store - leave a message today or tomorrow or reach us on Thursday when we are open.

(limiting the numbers in each class of course.) Here are a few of the students we've been up to while Dutch was not open. We used Willow Springs for a few certs. Mostly one on one students. Who's ready to go DIVING? We have our North Carolina trip coming up in middle of July. We've talked to the boat and all looks good for still running the trip. No flying needed, just drive down with your gear. We will need to know if you are going by the beginning of June. Olympus gave us some extra time for payment, but it would still need to be in at the beginning of June. So if you are going, we need to hear from you now.... It's about time we all get back in the water, everyone is drying out...

Atlantis is now back open under limited hours. We have our rescue teams wanting us open because we are life sustaining to them. So we are opening under limited hours. You must wear a mask in the store and we are limited to a max of 6 people in the store at any one time. Temporary Hour: Mon / Thurs / Fri. 11 am to 5 pm Saturdays 10 am to 5 pm... We can offer curbside service for anyone that needs it, like dropping off or picking up your servicing.

Yes we postponed as they suggested. Don't cancel postpone, this will be over at some point and we are so ready to be back in the water. Trip has been postponed to Sept, a few spots still available. And don't forget, we are are looking forward to our Roatan Trip in March of 2021, something to look towards and keep you excited.

We have officially moved the Curacao Trip to September. This means you could still hop on the trip now. Everyone is tired of staying home, so let's go diving Something to look forward to, enjoying the sun, fun and diving in Curacao. Only a few spaces available, don't wait if you would like to join us.

If you are able and would like to help out our most wonderful crew from the Manthiri Boat. This is mostly for those that went on the boat and know what a hard working crew this really is. I've seen many dive operations over the years and by far, these guys are some of the hardest working and most attentive crew I've ever seen. They all work together and do whatever is needed, never hear 'that's not my job' or walk away when something is needed Great bunch of guys. If you have the means and would like to, please help them out. A bunch of them live on the boat and while they are still on the boat, they have to feed themselves and such. How is everyone doing with all the craziness going on? We hope you are well and safe. If you need a little break, here is 4 minutes of soothing eagle rays swimming in the current on our very last dive of the Maldives trip this year. Cute little ones just swimming along with the current. Because I was hiding behind a large area of coral, I didn't have to fight the current myself and with not moving the rays came within 4 feet of me. Amazing, I could have stayed there all day.

Hope everyone is staying safe out there and we can get through this. An update just came through from Dutch that they are delaying Opening Day until May 16th at this point. So they will not be opening on April 18th as scheduled. They will need time in late April and early May to ready the park for opening. This normally is happening now, but with the stay at home orders they do not have anyone working. We are here for you if you have questions or need anything, just let us ...know. The store is closed, but still checking messages and email so when we can reopen everything will be ready to go and we can get diving soon. We can ship you anything you need as well, so that is available too. Our manufacturers have lifted restrictions on how we can sell, so whatever works for you, let us know. All courses have been postponed until further notice, we hope these can get back under way by sometime in May. Remember classes will fill quickly so sign up early, with the shorter schedule this year, classes will fill quicker then they already do. March Madness...right, just not the usual kind of madness though. We hope you are keeping safe and we will get through this. Atlantis is currently close until further notice by orders of the Governor. We are unsure when we can reopen, but it will be at some point and things will slowly start to get back to normal. If you have questions or need anything, please email us and we will do what we can to help. With the pools currently closed all confined water courses are postpo...ned until further notice. Once we resume, classes will likely be full so consider signing up for your later spring or summer class now to reserve your space. This will also mean you can start your eLearning now while we have some extra down time. It will get you excited for your course when we can resume. Great time to take that Nitrox course you've been wanting to take too. Email us with your course requests and will be get you signed up remotely and started on your adventure. If you have someone interested in Open Water, have them connect with us to reserve a spot in late spring/summer classes. Please take care of yourselves and this will pass and we will be able to resume at some point. Updates as they become available...

For those of you going to the BTS show, please be advised, the show was postponed until October. See the notice from BTS sent out this morning. The show will be October 9,10 & 11. they will then not have another until March of 2022.

We hope everyone is holding up through this difficult time and keeping themselves safe. Hopefully things can get back to normal quickly for everyone. Did you know: Atlantis has always cleaned and disinfected our regulators after each rental. We use a product called Mediclean (formally called MicroBan). While this is not new, we thought you should know we take cleaning our gear seriously and want only the best for you. Wetsuits are washed after every rental as well. Winter break is almost over. Atlantis will reopen with normal hours on Friday Feb 21st. But for now soaking up the last full day hiding out at resort on the edge of South Male Atoll. Shuuuuuuu. Don’t tell anyone I’m still here maybe I can stay....

Meanwhile still hiding out in the Maldives decompressing at a lovely resort with Jason, Bo and Patrick. Deb and Laurie left for home last night.

Two wonderful groups on the Manthiri boat. 10 day cruises each. So much life and adventure on each and every dive. Like a box of chocolates, u never know what each dive will bring, what excitement flies by or hangs around in the case of the mantas. So much fun was had by all. So many smiles and cheers and laughter after every dive. I feel so honored n blessed to have all of u that could come on these trips and enjoy it all with you. If u didn’t get on these trips and want more adventure come see us for our next trip postings and get in on the fun. Cheers to all such a great time.

We called this dive Mary’s Wish Today is Mary’s birthday and at breakfast she wished for a good manta encounter. Well she got 4 at one time. Amazing and they came right over her time and time again.

I waited 31 years for this moment. Was certified in 1989 and it took till 2020 to see my first whale shark. Got a 31 minute dive with him. He swam just slow enough that if I worked at it I could keep up. Found the closer I got to him the easier it was. Life is good drafting a whale shark. He returned for the second dive too and got the rest of our divers a good view.

Our second dive today yielded this wonderful little guy. He was at 100 feet and very colorful (with a flash). We did the same dive yesterday to try and see him but the current was so strong he was hiding. That was an amazing ride for that dive. It was Mr Toads Wild Ride for sure. Some called it the washing machine cause the currents kept changing directions n coming from different directions. Gave everyone good stories afterwards. All came back unharmed and smiling. So today we tried again n very different current. Just mild. So the little ribbon eels came out to play.

Please remember store is closed for this large trip and our group heading to Bonaire on Saturday. Store will reopen from winter break on February 21.

Group is at the Paralian Hotel on hulhumale in Maldives (all but one who had a snaffoo at the airport but will be catching up to us in a couple days) We will board the boat this morning for the next 10 days and diving by this afternoon Limited access to internet on boat so will update some photos when back at hotel between trips.

OK, We are Wheels up at 10:20 today. Off to dive the Maldives. First group is either there already or heading on this flight. Second group comes in 10 days Who's ready for some awesome diving?
