Twenty-six volunteer fire and ambulance companies located throughout the 76th District are set to receive approximately $530,503 through the COVID-19 Crisis Fir...e, Rescue and EMS Grant program. Follow the link below for the list of local recipients: http://www.repborowicz.com//Borowicz-Confirms-District-76- Unanimously approved by the General Assembly in May and signed into law as Act 26 of 2020, the purpose of this federal CARES Act funding is to provide financial relief and assistance to emergency responder organizations that have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 mitigation measures and have lost revenues over the last several months. It is absolutely critical, not only from a financial perspective, but for the safety of all Pennsylvanians, that we continue to take legislative action to support the life-saving public service of our volunteer emergency responders. As a member of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, I am pleased to see this funding returning to our area in a way that benefits and helps to protect every person in the 76th District. Administered by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and the Office of State Fire Commissioner (OSFC), eligible expenses for which the grants can be applied include utilities, insurance, apparatus repairs, fuel, personal protective equipment, sanitizing/disinfecting services and lost revenues due to pandemic restrictions.

Please help us shed some light on the ongoing funding crisis Pennsylvania EMS agencies, including ours, continue to face.
