A ‘VERY’ important article written by a Northern Lehigh Graduate. As musicians, we have heard and read many articles stating what is said in this one but the fact of the matter is, music programs are being cut IN OUR AREA. The subject matter in this article really hits home. I think quite often of what may NOT have happened to some very special students of mine if it had not been for the support for the arts my district had and HAS for the arts (Thank you Joe Kovalchi...k and the administration of Northampton Area School District) Please share this article with everyone you know, including the decision makers in your local schools. We must do everything we can to keep ALL music programs in our children’s lives. Even with Covid19 around, there are still plenty of ways for students to play and sing. Just look at what musicians (school and church) have already done now. It’s all over FACEBOOK and YOUTUBE. If you want fresh original ideas, just ask a musician.
