Our friends at the Wissahickon Middle School are honoring local Veterans through a Grab-n-Go Goodie Bag drive-thu celebration! The WMS Interact Club students hand-crafted poppies as a special tribute to each Veteran. The event is Thursday, November 11th, 1:00-1:30pm at WMS. Please RSVP by November 1st.

At a recent Rotary meeting, we welcomed Ricky Stuckey, a Montgomery County Community College student and President of the Veterans Club on campus. After being released from the armed services and dealing with some personal issues, Ricky was moving cross country back to this area to be around family. During his trip, he was racially profiled by police. It wasn't until they found his uniform and realized he was a Veteran that they released him. During that harrowing experie...nce, Ricky made a choice to act calmly with the officers. When Ricky made it home, he enrolled in MCCC and began mentoring other Veterans. He instructs the group on making good choices and being actively part of the change our society needs. We thank Ricky for sharing his amazing story and thank him for his service to both the Veterans he mentors and to our country! See more
