Dear Hermitage, Clark and Wheatland Residents; Thank you for your continued support of the Hermitage Police Department (HPD). Our officers believe in providing... helpful and professional police services to all residents plus all who work or visit the communities we serve. Police work is definitely difficult. Peace keeping and problem solving through issues involving crime, emotions, poverty, lack of education, violence, tragedy and other dangers, despair and barriers make law enforcement very challenging. Despite these daunting challenges, every HPD officer is tasked with providing quality policing through good character, empathy, competent skills and commitment to the oath of office. There is much talk in the news lately about defunding police entirely or cutting police budgets drastically. HPD’s budget is for wages, training, equipment, vehicle maintenance, fuel, licenses, technology upgrades, office supplies, case expenses, etc. Every tax dollar allotted to HPD by the Hermitage Board of Commissioners is modestly and carefully spent when needed. I pledge to you that HPD will continue to provide professional police services through highly trained, compassionate and unbiased officers to preserve the peace, protect persons and property and serve the public. I further pledge HPD will continue to exercise its granted authority and police powers reasonably, responsibly, transparently, ethically, conservatively, compassionately and in accordance with law and policy. Respectfully, Eric Jewell Chief of Police Serving the City of Hermitage & Boroughs of Clark and Wheatland Hermitage Police Department (PA0430400) 800 N. Hermitage Road Hermitage, PA 16148 Phone: 724-983-6780 Fax: 724-983-6786

If you or someone you know that lives in Clark and needs any help during this quarantine, please let me know. I would like to be able to help my fellow residents if I can, whether it’s a meal, running an errand, etc. I will do my best to help in any way I can. I’m sure a few others would also. Prayers for continued safety and health.
