The media has caused unnecessary panic regarding an exceedingly rare reaction associated with dermal filler and the COVID-19 vaccine. @allure does a great job detailing the most up to date recommendations from the @fda, @theaestheticsoc and @asdsskinmd in regard to this issue. No patient with filler should be detered from taking the vaccine (Moderna or Pfizer’s), and nobody who has been vaccinated should be deterred from getting filler! The risk of an adverse reaction is rare... and easily treatable with no long term effects. Sometimes correction of the smallest imperfections can have profound effects on one’s self esteem. Like this young lady, who was finished with the piercing stage of her life and wanted to remove the holes. These little holes are quite challenging; but, with a few tricks and precision surgical skill, they can have great outcomes. I am still working on the upper lip scars, but the lower lip piercing is almost invisible, 2 months after I excised it . A few more fraxil lase...r treatments, and it will be gone. She couldn’t find anyone to do this surgery for her, until she did her research and found me. This women was so happy to finally remove her 350cc, saline implants after 15+years. She had them done in her 30’s and after having kids, she gained 15lbs which made her feel too ‘top heavy.’ Instead of exchanging implants, many of my 50 y.o.’s are just removing the implants permanently, called Explant. I often do simultaneous breast lifts; but, as you can see, they look very nice without implants. I think these pictures are good for many of my 50’s & 60’s patients to s...ee. As they reach 15-20 years into their saline implants as well as 10 years into their silicone implants, they need to be changed. Look how great this late 50’s yo woman looks, right in the middle of the pandemic!! She had a tummy tuck with liposuction of her back and hips along with a simultaneous fat transfer to her buttocks(BBL). My poor little frenchy, lulu, had to have her eye removed 2 weeks ago. For the past 9 yrs, she has had problems. The little one, lovey who is 14months, bugs her still. But, she is being very kind to her and knows something was wrong with lulu. This past weekend, she was finally getting back to normal and went on a few long walks with my wife and I. I needed some outdoor time as much as lulu&lovey did; because, last week, I did 2 facelifts, 2 breast lifts and implant exchanges and 2 big body liposculptings. Then worked all day Saturday at my shore office. I love the variety and to be busy!!!

Here is an interesting Lip filler and Botox on a Russian patient who went to visit Ukraine in March. While there, she had fillers and came back to me to help refine that work. I see this all the time. Patients come to me and then try others for the same thing. But, they usually all come back. Botox and filler take a lot of artistry, patience and experience. Many patients don’t realize how important a well trained ‘aesthetic eye’ is, until they have someone less experienced and often ‘less expensive’ do the same job! That’s why artistry and experience matter!!

This is crazy, in the last 2 days, I’ve seen 4 patient’s who I did a face lift on over 12yrs-15yrs+ ago. This is another, spirited, 84yo who still works and loves to look young. Each year or 2, I do filler and/or Botox and they still look great!! I feel a sense of responsibility to my patients to keep them looking natural after surgery. I tell them from now on, I’ll be your ‘age manager’, helping you through the aging process, over time I always do these little things, myself; because, I know their faces better than anyone else. I just wish some of my colleagues would take more responsibility in the of their patients’ follow up appearances. When my patients operate with me, I will take care of them. Wow, whoever said Jane Fonda looks the best for her age hasn’t seen this beautiful lady I did a facelift on 9 months ago. She is so happy and full of life, even at 76 years old (almost 77). I did her 1st face lift at 58 yo; and, last year,I did a little refresher ‘lift’. She said something so true: if you don’t look old, you don’t feel old how true!!

I am so sorry to say that Our beloved Diane Garcia has just passed away. She had a long, 8 month battle with lung cancer and will be missed by all of us at the Brandow clinic. She was with us for 20 years and always helped everyone with her positive spirit and kindness. Our hearts and prayers go out to her family. We will all miss her dearly.

From my 1st television interview regarding kybella (which they cut because I warned people about the potential problems) until today, I have never liked kybella. This is a perfect example of why!! She originally came to me looking for the ‘less-invasive’ option to tighten her neck. I recommended surgery; but instead, she op’ed for kybella. Now, she has a very difficult problem to correct; because, all of the fat under her chin has been melted away, leaving a poorly vascularized, scarred down neck which will be difficult to reoperate on. Beware of kybella and those non-invasive quick fixes!!!!

We just saw this 40’ish y.o. Brazilian man who works hard and played soccer on the weekends but couldn’t seem to get rid of his pneus (tires) until we did a liposuction of his sides and stomach and chest.
