Eddy Ng, Bucknell's James & Elizabeth Freeman Professor of Management, was recently included in the University of Bath's list of influential scholars on social media around issues of responsible business. The #ThinklistAmplify aims to foreground the voices of racialized scholars in the field. The list acknowledges that academic experience, exposure and recognition online and offline are shaped by dynamics of power, including the social process of racialization. Congrats, Professor Ng!
Dr. Larnie Booker ’93, a general pediatrician and the care center vice president at Advocare Mid-Jersey Pediatrics in East Brunswick, N.J., was a pre-health student who majored in biology and minored in Latin at #Bucknell. Protecting local waterways has formed the core of Professor Matthew McTammany's biology and environmental studies & sciences work for nearly 20 years. This fall, a team of #Bucknell student researchers in McTammany's lab took experimental steps to restore these features by returning leaves to agricultural streams that have been deforested due to farming. Replenishing leaves in local Pennsylvania streams can not only revitalize the habitat for pollution-sensitive dwellers like caddisflies and fungi, but may also help mitigate the steady flow of pollutants into the Chesapeake through absorption. Learn more about the environmental research being conducted by McTammany and students Rebecca Kelly '21 and Jordan Isaacs '23:
