Today we got to do something nice for the community and honor a wonderful man at the same time. Late last year we launched the Bullard's Challenge. We promised to match your donations up to $2500 with all proceeds going to the Warminster Pioneers to help them reach their goal of buying a new scoreboard. Your generosity amounted to an impressive total of just around $2000. Today the Frajerman family and the Bullard family were proud to present checks totalling $2500, bringing ...the grand total of the fund raiser to $4500. This community, as well as the surrounding areas, has supported first the Bullard family and now the Frajerman family with such loyal enthusiasm. It is absolutely our pleasure to be able to give something back to show our appreciation. Tomorrow will be two years since Gary left us so suddenly. I've said it before but it bears saying again that I think of him often and hear his voice in my head. The year I got to spend cooking with him and getting to know him was a blast. It is very fitting that his name will now be memorialized at the field, knowing how he felt about you all and this area. We are told plans are moving forward for the purchase and installation of the new scoreboard. We hope to have more happy announcements in the spring or summer to share with you. Super Bowl Sunday is upon us soon. As many of you probably know today is the third anniversary of the Eagles winning their first Super Bowl. It was a day I thought I'd never see. Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest food day of the year. It's a great day to say "forget the calories"and just eat what you want. Perhaps you would like to start the day with some breakfast nachos? Yes, we will have those. Thinly sliced red bliss potatoes will be flash fried and take the place of... tortilla chips. We'll scramble up some eggs with bacon, ham and chorizo, add them over the potatoes, then melt some cheddar and pepper jack cheese on it. To finish the dish we have a lime infused sour cream, salsa and fresh chopped cilantro. We toyed with the idea of sliders but came to the realization our grill is too small and crowded. What we will be doing is a double smash burger. Two Angus ground beef patties (not an actual double burger, if you've had our burgers) with a slice of onion smashed into each patty. American cheese on both patties, then assembled on our toasted brioche bun with lettuce, tomato and pickle slices, then finished with a Sriracha ranch dressing sauce. Served with our hand cut fries. Chili at a football party is a must. Since we have red chili on the menu permanently, we've got something different for you starting tomorrow. A creamy white chicken chili with cannellini beans, cheese, cilantro and diced green chilies. We've been making this for years and it is flavorful and a tried and true recipe. Looking for something sweet ? Well of course we have that too. The Muffin Master (tm) has a secret up her sleeve from her days at Overlook Elementary, where some of our friends might recognize this. It's a chocolate chip cookie base, topped with some mini Reese's cups, the covered with a triple chocolate Ghirardelli brownie. For something a little tamer, we have a coffee cake muffin with a cinnamon sugar and butter crust. I said a little tamer. No matter what you do, enjoy the game and the weekend. I dug out our cars so we'll be open tomorrow! Whether or not I can lift my arms to actually cook will be a different story! If you're dug out also come and see us. If you're not, keep shoveling!
