The GM 4104, developed simultaneously with the Scenicruiser in the 1950’s was a huge leap forward in aesthetics, technology and amenities... big windows, silver siding, air suspension, lavatory, power steering and good AC. The first time I visited the museum, Bob Smith pointed MOBT’s ‘04 and mentioned that it had been operated for part of it’s life by Smith’s Bus Service in Manchester MD. I knew the bus my summer job in college was driving old Brills to Colorado for a non-p...rofit so buses were on my radar. The Museum’s 4104 was the same coach I traveled on as a student athlete at Western Maryland College in the mid-60’s distinctive because it was the only bus in Smith’s fleet that did not have a lavatory. 50+ years later I got to drive that bus at the Museum for the video on the website. BIG treat. If you have stories like this about this length we’d love to hear (and publish) them. [email protected]

First many thanks to Mark Watson for his years of effort administering this page, it’s a tribute to his effort that it took this long to find a way to get it up and running again... Dan Shoup and his family’s Cardinal Bus Line of Middlebury, IN is donating this pristine 1935 Yellow Coach to the AACA Museums historic bus fleet in Hershey PA. The Shoup family has been in the bus business since 1923, and has been a great force in line and charter service for years in the Midwe...st. The Yellow runs, and the museum is hoping to have it on campus in the near future... and the museum is very grateful to the Shoups. The Yellow will be the 3rd coach donated to the AACA Museum’s historic bus fleet this year joining the Ira Steinberg 1964 MC5 and John Bailey’s 1998 MCI 102D3. All 3 are runners. With these 3 buses, the AACA Museum’s historic bus fleet has grown to 44 vehicles.
