Have a safe and Happy St. Patrick's day weekend!
This weekends nice weather was a great preview of the spring and summer. Please don't forget to protect your eyes. Our well versed staff in the optical can help you pick out the right sunglasses for a great season. The following top five tips from the American Optometric Association can help prevent further eye damage from exposure to UV radiation: 1.Wear protective eyewear any time your eyes are exposed to UV light, even on cloudy days and during winter months.... 2.Look for quality sunglasses that offer good protection. Sunglasses should block out 99 to 100 percent of both UV-A and UB-B radiation and screen out 75 to 90 percent of visible light. 3.Check to make sure your sunglass lenses are perfectly matched in color and free of distortion and imperfection. 4.Purchase gray-colored lenses. They reduce light intensity without altering the color of objects, providing the most natural color vision. 5.Don’t forget protection for children and teenagers. They typically spend more time in the sun than adults. See more

Do floaters ever annoy you when you're trying to concentrate on something? Moving your eyes around -especially up and down - can help redistribute the fluid in your eyes and get rid of the floating nuisance.
While your eyelids and the external muscles of your eyes need rest and the lubrication of your eyes needs to be replenished regularly, your actual eyes never need rest.
Did you know that about half of your brain is involved in the seeing process? In fact, your eyes contribute to 85 percent of your total knowledge.
Did you that as we age we produce less tears? Dry eye conditions commonly develop as we get older, especially for contact wearers. If you have been suffering from dry eyes, effective eye lubricates and a change in the type of contacts you wear could help.
