The Heavyweight Championship was one helluva day!! 808 Bassheads could not spell a word to save their lives during the Aceetobee Spellingbee only to come in and crush Purple Reign during the Bernstein and Bacon-off with a refreshing pineapple bacon salsa, unfortunately the truffles from the other team were as spicy as the day was hot and the Judges couldn’t stand the heat! The Barfly Best Drink was a close call bu...t ultimately former Purple Reign Captain Morgan Boyle had some delectably sinister ingredients in their pearlized purple champagne that floored the Judges Ultimately what really set the tone for the day were the dueling games of Bassnectar/Biscuits versions of Trivia and Call That Song: Silent Disco Edition!! Our Quiz Masters, Andy Bazany, Russ Tabes and Parker Vito sure packed some punches that had both teams stammering trying to release the answers on the tip of their tongues! As you all know, this war is not made for jocks, it’s tailored around nerds, events that use your brain will always be worth more than events that are purely muscle and for that, Purple Reign dominated both events.... However, in the most shocking turn of events of anything we’ve ever seen on the battle field, the 808 Bassheads gave Purple Reign Captain Casey Cashman a run for his money during the event he is famous for! The title of Little Shimmy in a Limbo Line Champion was almost stolen from him in one of the most nail biting events of the day! Unfortunately when asked how low can you go his foe bowed out and Purple Reign took the win, for the 13th year in a row!!! Purple Reign now holds the undefeated title for 13 years straight in limbo AND lady’s arm wrestling, unbelievable!! How do they do it?!? As if that wasn’t enough to celebrate, they took home the Heavyweight Championship belts this year!! No matter how many warriors Color War HQ finds to step up against this team they just knock them out of the running year after year!! Every year we descend upon this mountain top we’ve come to call our own but something has changed these last three years, we learned to share our most sacred event with the Bassnectar kidz! The running joke all weekend was that Color War has become the United Nations of Montage Mountain, top representatives from both families show up, play nice, crack some jokes and set the tone for the rest of the weekend in hopes that our fellow fans follow suit! This year we decided to mak...e two special events for the Blue 808 Bassheads Team because we wanted to show them that to us, they are finally family! In the words of The Boys, you and I, we’re different but we’re still the same! Before Color War HQ makes our official post about this years winner, we want to shine a spotlight on our personal MVP this year! This man came into this war not truly knowing what to expect but came out of it gaining the respect of some of the most hardcore fans in the scene after playing the two games he curated with Russ Tabes, Call That Song: Silent Disco Edition and Biscuits Trivia!!
