Social media and disability claims - what should you know? Currently disability examiners refer suspect claims to Social Security’s inspector general. At that point, social media may be used to confirm the suspicions. However, Social Security has acknowledged it is considering using social media networks more prominently when assessing disability claims. This can be damaging, especially if a disabled person is posting pictures of events from before they were disabled.
