Under PA law during COVID-19 our only option for bringing in business has been to deliver plants to our customers in our trusty minivan. Michael and I have delivered over 200 orders to locations from Hockessin DE to Marshallton PA to Boyertown to Bryn Athyn and beyond. We are exhausted, but our customers are happy---one even left us a beautiful sign.
Our 2020 Hosta Catalogue is out and we are accepting orders through noon tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2, click here: https://carolynsshadegardens.com/hosta-catalogue/. It contains many lovely hosta choices, including tiny 'Blue Mouse Ears' and lovely 'June' in the photo.
A customer sent this photo of flowers from her Carolyn's Shade Gardens plants: lilacs, blue camassia, Spanish bluebells, and spent hellebore flowers. That's what I like about the dark hellebores---they continue to provide inteerst even when they have gone by.
My son Alex, who owns Practiced Hands Gardening, a landscaping and tree service business, and his girlfriend Marielle have a beautiful garden. I love their use of Japanese hakone grass, Hakonechloa, to edge this bed in front of hellebores, an Itoh peony, herbaceous peonies, and a giant blue hosta.
Simple and elegant: 'Blue Moon' wild sweet William and ostrich ferns in a customer's city garden.
Customer photo of one of the stone troughs we sell filled with mini hostas 'Mouse Cheese' and 'Mini Skirt', dwarf lady fern, and dwarf Solomon's seal all from Carolyn's Shade Gardens.
A customer sent me this lovely photo of her rain garden featuring plants she got at Carolyn's Shade Gardens. Native fothergilla in the back, native ostrich ferns, native cardinal flowers, hostas, and Japanese primroses, The blue flowers are annual forget-me-nots.
