On Saturday, December 19th, members of the Lacrosse team helped out at the Propel Northside Community Wellness Center, handing out food to those in need. The opportunity was arranged by Ms. Carrie Barmen and Head Coach Mr. Anthony Abbondanza. The boys who assisted (L-R) were Henry Shaver, '21; John Blount, '22; Nolan Paul, '22; Mike Huwar '22;, Tommy Iurlano, '21; Alex Assaf, '21; Coach Anthony, Nate Hess, '23 and Will Barmen, '18.

Central Catholic will be closed tomorrow, December 17th for in-person instruction due to the weather and a number of school districts cancelling transportation services. It is with deep sorrow that we share with you news of the sudden and unexpected death of Jafar Brooks, ’24. Funeral arrangements have not been made at this time. Central will provide further information once it is made available. Counselors will be available in-person during regular school hours today, Thursday, Dec. 17 and Friday. Dec. 18.... Counselors will also be available online. Students can email any of the counselors directly if they would like to speak with them. Eternal rest grant unto Jafar O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. Through the mercy of God, may Jafar rest in peace. Amen.

Thank you to The Mothers' Guild for providing our faculty and staff with bags of Christmas cheer! CCHS families donated items to fill goodie bags with cookies, snacks, and beer for the teachers and staff. Students in Mrs. Ball's Engineering 1 courses are breaking bridges this week. Students first record the actual mass of the bridge. Then they figure out the maximum load that the bridge can hold by incrementally adding mass to the bridge. After that, they calculate the efficiency of each bridge and a winner is declared.
