Looking for a unique present for your sweetheart? Welsh love spoons are traditionally made from a single piece of wood by young men as a love token for sweethearts. Originally made from teak wood, these ornately carved spoons are meant to show affection and intentions for a loved one. #HereandthereThursday #CelticClassic #celticcomeback2021 #welshlovespoon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBgyBrkNukw

Did you know that at Celtic Classic we have had over 400 students age 18 and under compete at the Celtic Youth Fiddle Contest over the past 21 years? This contest is judged by professional violinists and fiddlers who are performing at the Celtic Classic, and they give each student constructive feedback. Many of these young violinists have gone on to become professional musicians themselves, such as Genenevie King, with Poor Man's Gambit and The Chivalrous Crickets, Rose Baldino, with Burning Bridget Cleary and House of Hamill, and Casey McGinty, with Fig for a Kiss. Consider contributing to ensure these wee ones have somewhere to hone their skills!: https://bit.ly/CelticComeback2021 #fiddle #irishfiddle #celticcomeback2021 #celticclasic

#MondayswithMarcie Which Celtic Tree Sign Astrology are you? To the ancient Celtic druids, trees were believed to be the powerhouse of knowledge and wisdom. The Celtic year consists of thirteen lunar months, representing the cycles of the moon, and each lunar month was linked to one of the sacred trees. https://themindsjournal.com/celtic-tree-astrology/ #celticcomeback2021 #celticclassic

#MondayswithMarcie Did you know the phrase "tying the knot" is believed to have originated from an old Celtic custom? The tradition of handfasting, which binds the hands of a couple with ribbon or cord to symbolize marriage vows, was used either for a sign of betrothal or, in Scotland, to show mutual consent when the church did not approve the marriage. https://www.waterlilyweddings.com//hand-fasting-a-celtic-/ #CelticComeback2021 #tyingtheknot #celticclassic

Did you know that the United States Air Force has a select group of talented musicians that form a premier Celtic and Folk ensemble called Celtic Aire? In addition to community relations concerts in Washington, D.C. and the surrounding area, this small ensemble regularly performs at official functions for military and civilian leaders. Having performed at Celtic Classic in 2018, we are excited to announce their return in 2021. #MondayswithMarcie In Galicia, Spain, the Romans built the Tower of Hercules as a lighthouse possibly towards the end of the 1st century. The bay of A Coruña was important to the Roman shipping routes that connect the Mediterranean and North Atlantic coastal areas. A world heritage site, the Tower of Hercules is the oldest working lighthouse in the world. #celticcomeback2021 #galicia #celticclassic https://www.turismo.gal//torre-de-hercu/historia-da-torre

The traditions of Halloween span centuries, and it began with the Celts. When they celebrated the end of the Harvest season in a festival called Samhain, and it also marked the Celtic new year. It was also a night that the Celts believed that the ghosts of the dead walked the Earth. #HereandThereThursdays #Halloween #Samhain #celticcomeback2021 #celticclassic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-VRAemIvbI

The CCA Board of Directors serving up bangers & mash to our supporters. A heartfelt THANK YOU to the Edge Restaurant and everyone who purchased a meal! Remember, this about so much more than supporting events. All the festivals that happen in Downtown Bethlehem bring 'feet to the street' and have a large economic impact to area businesses. #celticcomeback2021 #supportlocal #supportthesupporters #celticclassic

Did you know the origins of Halloween are Celtic? On October 31, Samhain is the pagan religious festival that originates from an ancient Celtic spiritual tradition. It is one of the 4 fire festivals, and Samhain (a Gaelic word pronounced "sow-win"), welcomes in the harvest and ushers in "the dark half of the year." #samhain #halloween #celticcomeback2021 #celticclassic https://www.history.com/topi/halloween/history-of-halloween

MONDAYS WITH MARCIE! The Celtic tree symbolizes both harmony and balance and is featured often in history and religion. The Oak tree is the most sacred, and the origin of the word door, is the Celtic name for oak, daur, because the root of the Oak tree was the doorway to the Otherworld, the realm of the Fairy. https://irisharoundtheworld.com/celtic-tree-of-life/ #treeoflife #celticcomeback2021 #mondayswithmarcie #celticclassic
