We have an eggcellent experiment to share with the budding scientists in your home! Follow these simple steps to crack the case and discover how to make an egg FLOAT in water! What you need: 1. One egg 2. An almost full glass of water... 3. About one cup of salt For the experiment: 1. Carefully place the egg in the glass of water 2. You will see the egg sink to the bottom 3. Remove the egg 4. Slowly start to pour salt into the glass (about 6 TBS) 5. Lower the egg into the salty water 6. Watch what happens to the egg this time! #BehindtheScience: Saltwater is denser than ordinary tap water. The denser the liquid, the easier it is for an object to float! When you lower the egg into the saltwater, the liquid is dense enough for the egg to float! #TheCitizenScienceLab #STEM #ScienceExperiments #STEMlearning
