This fine lady pictured is Hope. She is 85 years old. (86 soon) She bought an AR because a respected woman Instructor I know told her Every woman should own an... AR rifle! Today she got to shoot it. The size of her grin made my day. After sighting in her red dot, she sent lead down range at a steel target. She rang it 26 of 28 shots. I had many students today and all of them were outstanding in their own way. However, 85 year old mother, grandmother, with an AR was the tops. Pictured below with her permission. I had a great day.

Many of you have heard me say...cleaning a gun doesn’t need to be done after every time you shoot. Here is a photo of the chamber of a gun not cleaned for a few thousand rounds, but still runs well (if lubed).

Dear Ridge and Valley Rod and Gun Club Members, As you know, Michael Mike Popovich, an Allentown Police Sergeant (Ret.) and longtime Club Member and President, died several weeks ago. Mike loved our Club, a membe...r since 2002 who served as Club President from 2009 until his death on May 19, 2020. The Board of Governors wanted to honor his memory, and to that end asked for volunteers to coordinate this effort and solicit donations. A worthy project was identified, and bids are being sought for a new, long lasting Trap Scoring Bench, to replace the one in poor condition behind the Trap range, behind the Clubhouse. A plaque honoring Mike, with a brief mention of his history with R&V will be included. If there are sufficient funds, a matching rack for participants’ shotguns will be included. We envision using long-lasting materials so this will stand a very long time as a token of appreciation for all he did for the Club. As you may know, Trap was Mike’s joy, and he served Mondays as host of Members and the public who wished to participate in that shooting sport for many years. If so inclined, we are asking for donations to accomplish this project, made out to Ridge and Valley Rod & Gun Club, with a note on the memo line designating your contribution to the Michael S. Popovich Memorial. The Club Treasurer has graciously agreed to collect and oversee this fund, and any leftover monies will go to the R&V General Fund, to be used by the Club as the Board directs.
