Happy Valentine's Day from Clarion Rugby! We collaborated with the Advisory Board for Leadership and Engagement to throw a Valentine's Day Party on Saturday. Our craft table allowed local children and students to write letters to troops stationed overseas.

We apologize for the lack of posts lately! We would like to recognize several players for their outstanding contributions this season. Our Rookie of the year is Jibreel Hughes Jr.... Jibreel is a Freshman Business Major from the Philadelphia. He quickly showed his explosiveness at the fullback position, jumping into the backline to score his first try against PSU Altoona. He then transitioned into the Outside Center position, crossing the try-line 3 more times that season. Our Crusader for the Fall Season is Justin Prokop For the second time, Captain Prokop is receiving this award for the second time in his career. He is Junior Accounting Major from Altoona, PA. and Justin is known for his outstanding toughness, and his tenacity as a defender and a ball-carrier. Justin is willing to risk life-and-limb to get the win - worrying many coaches and mothers along the way. Justin scored 2 tries and 3 assists from the Hooker position in the fall of 2016. He is also being named to the Tafurs' select side for his performance. Our Support Player of this season is Stephen Urtz Stephen has proven himself as a consistent and reliable player, tackling, rucking, and supporting his teammates in every match. Steve is a Junior economics major from Philadelphia. Playing in the open-side flanker position, he has proven that he is a sure tackler and an excellent supporter he has been selected as a member of the Tafurs select side. Our Heem Stick has been awarded to Ralph Johnson III Ralph has the most heem, and has showed it, both on and off the field. Our MVP for this season is Jamison Staszewski Jamison is being awarded the MVP for the second time. Jamison is a Senior from Erie, Pennsylvania. In addition to his role as team treasurer, he, along with Daniel Cupps were named assistant captains this season in. He is a play-maker that improves the play of all of those around him, from the fly-half and center position, he brought the back-line together into a cohesive and effective unit, scoring 2 tries and 4 assists along the way. He is also being named to the Tafurs' select side for his performance. Our King Tafur for this season is Ty Miller Tyler is receiving this award for the second time. Off of the field, He has served as team president since the end of 2014, and has served as the team's coach in the absence of its normal coaching staff. On the field, Tyler is known as an explosive runner and a accurate passer, notching 6 tries and 4 assists along the way. He is also being named to the Tafurs' select side for his third consecutive year.
