We love the Ybor City style Cubano sandwiches and serve this version in our Visit to Havana soup, salad + sandwich meal. The Cubano originated from the large immigrant Cuban population that settled in Tampa (specifically the Ybor City neighborhood) to work the cigar factories. What makes a Cuban sandwich Ybor City style is the addition of the salami from the Italian immigrants. The delicious combination of ham, swiss cheese, mojo marinated roast pork, and Genoa sala...mi pressed together between bread is the culinary celebration of American, Cuban and Italian cultures all in one delicious melty combo.
