Coplay Police does not have any designated ATV or snow-mobiles public roadways during a snow emergency, nor has permission been given to anyone to ride on roadways in such fashion. You will be stopped and cited. Please review PA title 75 subsections 7721 and 7722 to reference this common mistake by riders. https://www.lehighvalleylive.com//no-even-in-this-pa-emerg

Please be advised: A snow emergency has preemptively been declared and will be placed into effect starting at 12:00 PM tomorrow Wednesday 12/16/20 until further notice. Please be aware of snow emergency routes and parking guidelines. Make plans now, (cleaning out garages for vehicle spots, or using private lots) to avoid vehicles being ticketed or towed to keep streets clear. Ensure your vehicle is close to the curb to avoid plows and mirrors colliding. When using snow blowe...rs avoid dumping large amounts of snow into the street. Stay safe!

Prevention is key for stopping porch pirate thefts. With the holiday season in full swing and delivery being a more common practice with Covid-19 guidelines, there is a large potential for theft. Coplay Police Department recommends considering a surveillance or door bell camera system installed. If you do have a camera system, regularly check to see if it is operational. Camera systems that use batteries tend to die quicker in colder weather, so always have a spare battery a...nd keep them charged. Be aware of what packages should be delivered on what day. If a package was delivered by mistake, contact the delivery service and make every attempt to return the package (it's the law). If you note suspicious activity dial 911, and give as much detail as possible to the dispatcher. If deliveries are made through USPS, you can always discuss options with them relative to requiring a signature, special directions on package placement, and other services. Delivery companies commonly rent third party trucks (Penske, UHaul etc.) to handle the increased volume. Let's prevent Grinch's and pirates together. Stay safe and stay healthy. With the first brief snow fall this year, Coplay Police would like to remind drivers that it isn't the starting, but the stopping that causes accidents. Look ahead and be aware of your surroundings, drive defensively, and do not assume that others are always capable of stopping. Always give yourself plenty of time to arrive alive. Officers will be on the look out for vehicles that are unsafe. Clean off your entire vehicle of snow and have a clear view of all windows.
