It's definitely not about the internet experts with no real experience. Dog breeding is about late nights with a puppy who isn't doing well. Dog breeding is about trying to get ready for work or a family function and realizing you can't go because of an unexpected vet trip. D...og breeding is putting your heart and soul into new life and picking the best families you can for them. Dog breeding is about always trying to improve. Yet, dog breeding shouldn't be only about the next show winner, shows are an evaluation of breeding stock not a purpose for it. (Though shows are fun and winning is awesome, really really awesome.). Dog breeding is about doing the best that you can do, following what feels right in your heart, and always re-evaluating. Dog breeding is about the little things, the day to day. It's not about the smell of puppy breathe, it's about getting the puppy who was born still to breathe. Dog breeding is about years of experience and trial and error. It's about knowing that no matter how much you learn or how much you know, there is always more to learn, there are always new ways coming up. It's about weeding through progressive and new compared to tried and true. It's about making that choice over and over, often hoping you make the right one. The reason so many breeders come and go is there is no way we can truly explain how much of a lifestyle dog breeding is, how much work it is, or how how hard it will be at times. But, for those with a passion, that passion never fades. It's about a passion for dogs and for people's right to own the dog of their choice. Dog breeding is never what people started out thinking it would be. It's harder and it's easier, it's better and it's worse, it's heartbreaking and heartwarming. It's so much and more. Dog breeding is about the moments like this when you know you made a special friend for a special person and through all the work, all the heartache, all the happiness you create
