Did you know that parasites are threats to your dog all year long? Despite the common belief that ticks, fleas, and mosquitoes are only active in warmer months, these pests can cause big problems for your dog at any time during the year. They are not only a nuisance, but they can transmit diseases to your dog. The best way to protect your dog against them is year-round tick, flea, and heartworm disease protection. Note: It was 75 degrees today... in November. ... Dear CCVH Family, You, your pet, and our staff's safety remains our top priority. As you plan your upcoming visit to our clinic, we would like remind everyone to follow the below key safety precautions: Ensure that your dog’s collar or harness is secure and leash is attached. Two fingers spacing is appropriate. Small doggies may like a carrier. ... Place your cat in a carrier and double check that this is properly fastened and closed. Cats are known to be escape artists! Some cats even like harnesses if they are used to them. All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier for us to take them safely through the parking lot. Please continue to follow social distancing guidelines and wear face coverings during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are still continuing curbside service. Even when we come to your carside we all must follow these government mandates. While you wait at our clinic, let us know if there is anything we can do to make your wait easier. Bottle of gatorade? Drop off appointment? Last but not least please know that our team is working harder than ever to care for your pets! Be patient with our staff, smile, and show them kindness and respect. Ask questions to help us better serve you. And let us know if you have feedback about your experience. Thank you for continuing to entrust us with your pet's care. Sincerely, The CCVH Staff

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. Martin Luther King, Jr. Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and countless others. We are all affected by this heartbreaking tragedy, and by the unsettling events that are unfolding across the country. Our hearts go out to everyone who is suffering any harm or loss during this time. CCVH is ...committed to providing an inclusive, safe and welcoming environment for all, united by our love for animals. Racism and intolerance have no place anywhere, and certainly not within our hospital. This may be self-evident, but better to state so explicitly, than allow silence to leave a gap for inequality to fill. Looking forward, we recognize and respect that everyone is experiencing these events and is affected in different ways. What is important is that we listen, serve, and support one another it’s our responsibility as individuals and as a community. Sincerely, The Doctors and Staff of Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital

Creature Comforts Veterinary Hospital 20.04.2019

One of the perks of the Coronavirus pandemic for many of our owners has been bringing a new puppy or dog into the home. Hopefully, in the next month or two, things will start getting back to normal, and this will be a big adjustment for our pets that are used having their family around all the time. Here are a few suggestions to start now to help minimize the anxiety puppies and dogs may feel once life starts going back to normal. 1) Let your new puppy or dog have some ti...me alone during the day in a different room in the house. Having a dog or puppy get used to being alone will help when everyone starts going back to work or school, and hopefully minimize separation anxiety problems. Start with a few minutes at a time and slowly to work up to longer periods of alone time over the course of a few weeks. 2) Try to keep the dog’s crate out of the bedroom. This will allow the dog to get used to settling and sleeping by themselves. It can also help them get used to being alone. 3) Take your new puppy or dog on socially distant walks around the neighborhood to expose them to new sounds and sights that they may not encounter in your back yard, like noisy trucks, kids on bicycles, landscapers and other people. It is best to not let unknown people and pets approach your new pet due to social distancing concerns. 4) Setting a routine and sticking to it every day can also help new dogs and puppies settle in to their new life. Try to schedule walks, feedings, alone time, and play time for the same time every day. Dogs are creatures of habit and really do well with a set routine. Do not hesitate to call us at Creature Comforts if you have any questions or concerns you may have about your new (or old) pet! Sincerely, Dr. Amy Johnson

Dear Creature Comforts Family: We are happy to announce that we can now begin providing nail trims. Please call us at 610-635-1100 to schedule an appointment time. These appointments will be on a first come, first serve basis. No additional services will be performed on S...aturday. If you need to schedule something in addition to the nail trim, we will find another time to accommodate you. To accommodate social distancing, our lobby is still closed to clients.
