If you or someone you know needs to talk with an advocate please call our 24-hour hotline at 610-437-6611.
As a victim of crime in Pennsylvania, you have rights. Our advocates are highly qualified and trained to help you understand those rights and the options you have. Reach out to learn more at 610-437-6611.
It is possible to get to a point where the trauma no longer defines who you are, it’s just part of your story. Hear more from the Direct Services Supervisor about how our counseling staff work to empower survivors. For more information go to our website at http://cvclv.org/individual-group-counseling/ or call our hotline at 610-437-6611.
We were excited to participate in this year's Holiday Hope Chest campaign with Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley Staff collected items and wrapped 24 boxes to be distributed to children of varying ages. #holidaycheer #nonprofitssupportingnonprofits
There are so many ways to seek help after a crime and have your voice be heard. CVC Advocates want to empower you to make a plan that is best for you- whether that be counseling, filing a report, getting a protection order, or a combination of those. To learn more about CVC and read our mission statement at http://cvclv.org/mission-statement/
Every election season can be overwhelming and this year is no exception. Make sure to take breaks and take care of yourself!

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Last week we had the privilege of working with these young actors and Ruckus Marketing to film a bullying awareness video. We can't wait to share the final result with all of you! #NBPM2020 #bullyingprevention
Today is #PurpleThursday! Most years we take a staff picture in purple but this year we opened it up for staff to be creative in capturing the importance of Purple Thursday and #DVAM. How are you showing your support on Purple Thursday?
Thank you to Saucon Source for writing such a great piece on CVC and helping to get the word out with advertising on their site over the last few months! https://sauconsource.com//crime-victims-council-free-con/
We have ended the Quotes for Good fundraiser and are very grateful to everyone who participated and especially @Shawn Leh for supporting us. We will likely hold this fundraiser again in the future!

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We often hear "Why did you stay?" "Why wouldn't would you just break up?" and similar questions. There is so much manipulation and control involved in abusive relationships, it is sometimes difficult for survivors to recognize. If we want to stop domestic violence we have to understand it first. #DVAM2020 #BelieveSurvivors #YouAreNotAlone
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Turning Point of Lehigh Valley is offering some great workshops throughout the month to learn more about Domestic Violence, Turning Point's services, and how to get involved! Check out their Facebook or website at https://www.turningpointlv.org/events/ for more info!
CVC staff took time today to get together for the first time in months! It was nice to enjoy a cool breeze, great food, and pumpkins together.
Our thoughts can be overwhelming especially in a year as unpredictable as 2020. How do you prevent your thoughts from overtaking everything? Is your boat the support of family and friends, writing in a journal, taking time for yourself to process?
Thank you Lehigh Valley Health Network for your generous donation! Thank you to the other CVC Cares Healing Partners: The Oscar G. and Elsa S. Mayer Family Foundation; Richards, Meli, & Associates; Campbell, Rappold, & Yurasits LLP. We appreciate your support and the ability to further reach the community!
In 2007, September 25th was declared National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims. CVC has found many ways for survivors to honor their loved ones over the years. The Memorial Quilt is dedicated to victims of homicide. It was an idea developed in the Homicide Survivors’ Support Group. Loved ones who have lost family members or friends to murder uniquely designed each block. Each person designed their own block and several volunteers assembled it. The Memorial Quilt has been display in the CVC office and typically taken to the Victims' Rights Vigil each year. Recently, we captured photos of each quilt square to further preserve these memories in a scrapbook. We hope to allow survivors to add to this scrapbook in memory of their loved ones lost.
Abuse in relationships can come in many forms and affects a lot of people. You are not alone. Help is available.
