Earnestly believe that God exists, that I matter to Him and that He has the power to help me recover. Happy are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. ...Matthew 5:4 TEV, NIV God never promised us freedom from pain... but His son Jesus left us with hope for comfort during the pain. Wondering how to get access to His comfort? Ask Him for it. Family, the CR National TEAM is praying for you. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Principle2 #LoveLikePastorJohn CelebrateRecovery.com
There are times in life when words are totally inadequate in sharing how you feel, this morning is one of those days. My dearest friend and brother has gone Hom...e. John Baker co-founder of Celebrate Recovery made his way Home early this morning. To say this took us by surprise would be an understatement. John touched more people with the healing power and grace of Jesus Christ than anyone else that I have ever known personally and one of those lives was mine. We will share more with you in the days to come but for now we would ask that you keep his soul mate and cofounder of Celebrate Recovery Cheryl Baker, the love of his life, along with Johnny and Jeni Baker, Laura and Brian Gibney and all their grandkids in your prayers. We will miss John more than words can express but it will only be for a short while and then we will see him again. See you soon my brother. Sexuality: God designed it. Satan hijacked it. Jesus redeems it. ... When Jesus redeems, He changes your identity. He changes it from I am a sex addict, that is who I am, to I am a child of God who was addicted. From I am a victim of sexual abuse and therefore I am damaged, to I am a child of God and He is redeeming my brokenness, and with Jesus’ help, I can change. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) Loaded on the CR Connected site you can see the entire Sexual Integrity session by Carol Holmstrom. We are praying that CR Connected not only helps people train for CR leadership, but also leads people to the redemption power in Jesus. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Redeemed CelebrateRecovery.com
You have already weathered so many storms in life. The community you are in, it too has gone through some hardships. That’s just how life goes. Some days are t...ough and last too long, other days are fun and seem to fly by. As is the case with our day today, the season we are in will also pass by. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: Ecclesiastes 3:1 KJV So if the season is great, let’s do our best to live in the moment and give praise to God for His goodness in our lives. And if it is a tough season, let’s hold on to the true comfort found only in Christ and believe that one day this will also pass. #CR #CelebrateRecovery #Seasons CelebrateRecovery.com
