#TuesdayThoughts: May we choose to live in a way that nurtures our sacred relationships with God and every dear neighbor. This is a contemporary version of one of our Maxims, or short sayings, which were originally written by our founder in the 1600s to help the first Sisters of St. Joseph grow in love of God and neighbor. #CSJMaxims #SistersofStJoseph #CSJBaden

In this new #COVIDConversations series, we're talking with some of our Sisters about how their lives have changed during the pandemic, where they're finding hope, and what message they want to share with you, our dear neighbors. We invite you to listen to our conversation with Sisters Nancy Ramirez and Faith Hepp and to let us know how we can support you during this time of uncertainty and isolation. For resources or to request prayers:... https://www.stjoseph-baden.org/coronavirus/ #csjbaden #sistersofstjoseph #pandemiclife #covid19

God of wisdom and mercy, as you taught us to love our dear neighbor, we pray that you give us strength to be healing instruments of unity and reconciliation.

"Realizing my own and the entire world’s vulnerability certainly has deepened my awareness of our utter dependence on God. There is nothing we can control except our own attitudes and behaviors. And I know that the one thing God wants of us in our vulnerability is to be in solidarity with one another. Take care of one another, love one another," writes Sister Sarah Crotty in her reflection for National Vocation Awareness Week. Read about how Sister Sarah sees occasions of grace amid the pandemic and why the gifts of community life have helped her lean more deeply into God's great love even during the darkest of times. bit.ly/PandemicReflectionSarahCrotty #NationalVocationAwarenessWeek #NVAW #Vocations #PandemicLife #CSJBaden #SistersofStJoseph #ReligiousLife

"Our Congregation is known as a congregation of great love. It was and is that 'great love' that I had witnessed in the Sisters who taught me. There was always a warmth and acceptance of my unique self. These past 59 years have presented to me a myriad of opportunities to seek to mirror that same great love of God. But none were so powerful as the manner in which my Sisters cared for me," writes Sister Rita Murillo in her reflection for National Vocation Awareness Week. Read ...about Sister Rita's experience of "following an interior call" that she did not fully understand to become a Sister of St. Joseph and why being a member of a religious community has been an incredible gift, especially this year. bit.ly/PandemicReflectionRitaMurillo #NationalVocationAwarenessWeek #NVAW #Vocations #PandemicLife #CSJBaden #SistersofStJoseph #ReligiousLife

"I recall a song that I used to teach children 'Love is only Love when you give it away, you end up having more.' Those words were more than lyrics to a children’s song, they have become a way for me to understand and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ," writes Sister Colleen Crossen in her reflection for National Vocation Awareness Week. Read about how Sister Colleen has found strength in contemplative silence during the pandemic and how this time of prayer helped her remain connected to her Sisters in the Congregation as well as the global community. bit.ly/PandemicReflectionColleenCrossen #NationalVocationAwarenessWeek #NVAW #Vocations #PandemicLife #CSJBaden #SistersofStJoseph #PrayerLife #ContemplativePrayer

"In an address to Bishops in Florence, Italy, in November 2015, Pope Francis said, 'We are not living in an era of change; we are living in a change of era.' When I read those words, I found them remarkably freeing," writes Sister Janet Mock in her reflection for National Vocation Awareness Week. Read about why Sister Janet finds the Pope's insight about this change of era so compelling, how it resonates with her call as a Sister of St. Joseph and where she sees "the activity of God is alive in small and significant ways." bit.ly/PandemicReflectionJanetMock #NationalVocationAwarenessWeek #NVAW #Vocations #PandemicLife #CSJBaden #SistersofStJoseph

Sister Mary Meyers, who ministers as Remediation Coordinator at the Duquesne University School of Nursing, says "the most rewarding aspect of my job at Duquesne is seeing students who feel defeated turn that into success and move into the nursing profession as confident young men and women." Thank you, Sister Mary, for your dedication to the next generation of caring and compassionate nurses! Get to know Sister Mary at http://bit.ly/sistermaryfeature.

Losing a loved one is always painful, but experiencing grief during the COVID-19 pandemic is especially difficult as we are often unable to mourn in-person with family and friends. We recently planted and blessed a willow tree on our grounds in remembrance of all lives lost and mourned during the pandemic. This All Souls’ Day, we invite you to submit the name of a loved one who has died during the pandemic. We'll hold you and your loved one in our prayers. http://bit.ly/Reme...mberingOurNeighbors When we can all come together again safely, our hope is to have a public dedication of this living memorial and acknowledge each life lost during these unprecedented times. #AllSoulsDay #COVID19 #Grief #LivingMemorial
