It is time to look at your summer plans and think about Cub Scout summer camp! Check out our video from 2019's camp for an idea of what this is all about. Pack 29 will go to Akelaland from July 18-23 2021. Obviously some things will be different this year. Details on t...hat will continue to develop based on the status of the pandemic as summer approaches. If you are sure you want to attend, there is a $100 deposit due this month which reduces your cost by $25. Final reminders for our lake hike! 1) meet at the Sheetz in Tatamy (100 Trolley Line Dr) starting at 9 AM. You'll have time to get gas/snacks and we will try to depart about 9:15 when everyone is there. 2) Bundle up! It's normally 10 degrees colder in the poconos than it is in Easton. Check the weather at Mt Pocono or Pocono Summit. ... Tomorrow's forecast for the poconos is for temps in the teens. There is not supposed to be heavy wind but conditions can change quickly. There is a snowstorm coming but it is not supposed to start until late, we should be leaving the camp by 1:30 or 2 at the latest. Plan for about 3 hours out in the cold. Multiple layers - longjohns, heavy coats, hats, gloves, scarves, and insulated winter snowboots. 3) The camp ranger will be ice fishing later in the morning, so we should have a chance to see that during our hike. 4) Bring water and snacks on the hike in a backpack. 5) We will bring in a lunch at the END of our hike when we are all back in the parking area. You can bring your own if you prefer and leave it in the cars. We will have pizza and drinks for the kids. It will probably be around 12:30 or 1 PM by this point so if you expect the kids to be hungry pack heavy snacks for during the hike. If you plan to come but have not confirmed to your den leader please do so ASAP - we need to turn in a roster to the camp of who will be on site. You can call or text Chuck Mina with questions 570.216.2731
