We will be at Barbour’s Bakery again on Sunday, February 14, and again for Fat Tuesday in February 16. We will be offering donuts on both days and we will have a selection of Day’s handmade candy available for Valentines Day. Please call and order any donuts you would like as well as candy. We will be offering chocolate covered strawberries and cherries, raisins, peanuts, mixed nuts, salted caramel and many others. We can be reached at (570) 282-4710. Big news! I will be making Day’s Bakery lebkuchen this season at Barbour’s Bakery in Carbondale. Due to a shortage of some of the ingredients, there will be a limited supply. The cost will be $20.00 per dozen. Barbour’s will be happy to ship them any where within the United States. We don’t post much now a days, for obvious reasons . This one hits close to home for us, so I wanted to share this as far and wide as I can! For every pizza ordered from Pizza by Pappas on November 13 and 14, they will donate HALF to The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network! If you live or work in Scranton, it’s well worth the call!

When her granddaughter is getting married, Mrs Day can still pull an all nighter! At 95, still looking good!

Once in a blue moon, I come out of hiding and bake! Sure miss it most days! This was for a retirement party.

A very big thank you to Honesdale FDP! You guys are incredible! The Bakery is a mess, but everyone is doing ok! Mrs. Day is a bit shook up, but is doing fine!

If you are on North Main Street in Honesdale, be sure to stop and take a big breath! Yes, that’s brownies you smell! We are getting ready for Mrs. Days party this Sunday! Be sure to stop by and wish her a very happy 95th Birthday! United Methodist Church in Honesdale from 2-4.

Today marks one year since we shut our doors! Hard to believe! We miss it and all of you so much!

Well, well, well! We do have a very sad state of affairs tonight! It seems the baker is down to his last two! Sigh.... My grandmother sent me to mrs. Germano's nursery school with s bag full of these for lunch! Why would you let a four year old pack lunch for themselves?!? Needless to say, I'm about as happy a Mrs. Germano was when she saw my lunch! What to do now?

Today is the day! We can't believe it either! What the bakery has seen! When we began, I Love Lucy was just starting its second season and the Korean War still went on for another year! Wow! Please come join us for one last day! The lines may be long, but it's worth it!

Things are starting to get scarce around here! Lebkuchen are officially sold out, and, I hate to say it, chocolate butter press are going to be gone soon! Remember, we are no longer taking orders. Our best suggestion is to get in early! Once things are gone, they are GONE!

We are making our Irish soda bread!

After more than 60 years of fine baking, we have decided to retire on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Between now and then we invite you to stop in and visit us and enjoy your favorite treats. We want to thank our many loyal customers who have been such an important part of our lives over the years!

Beginning on Sunday January 11, Day's Bakery will begin winter hours. We will be open from 5AM-5PM Tuesday through Saturday. We will be closed on both Sunday and Monday.

We want to thank everyone ! We are proud to be part of so many family's holiday traditions! Day's Bakery will be closed on Christmas Day and the following day (Friday). We will reopen on Saturday 12/27 at 5AM. Merry Christmas everyone! Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season!
