It's full up! Sorry I was bad about maintaining the Free bookshelf for awhile... things took up my attention. But, after I sat in the store all day, watching people visit the bookshelf with its paltry half-shelf of offerings, I realized that I needed to get back into the swing. So, here ya go! Yo! Yo! Yo! Grand Re-Opening is now scheduled for THIS SATURDAY, 8/29, 10 AM to 4 PM! Apparently, it's Independent Bookstore Day, so we're celebrating by opening our doors! I'm sure we'll still be pricing and shelving books, but come on by to say hi and peruse the largely new-to-us inventory. Okay, DelRivReaders. I've never been good at asking for help, but I'm trying to be better at it. So, I'm asking for help. I'm looking for 2-4 volunteers for a few hours this Sunday, 8/23 (time flexible), to help me get the store ready to open. See all these books on the shelves? They're ALL scheduled to be taken out of the store by Saturday morning. That means I need to put other books onto the shelves. I'll have many full boxes in the store by Sunday, but then the books will... need to be checked for a price (and possibly priced) and shelved appropriately. The Perks: You'll get to scope out the new inventory before anyone else. You'll get to have a say in which genre books get filed under. (I know for some of you, that's an issue ) You'll be helping this little bookstore get back on its feet. The Fine Print: We will practice social distancing throughout the day, and masks must be worn inside the store. (The masks actually help to mitigate the effects of book dust, so...)
