Meet Alexandra! A graduate of The Art Institute of Philadelphia, she joined us two years ago, initially sitting on the visualization team before moving to architecture. : She oversees the interiors of some of the largest residential projects in Philly. A career highlight so far was designing the interior for the Laurel Penthouse in Rittenhouse Square, one of the most expensive listings the city has seen to date. : "Working here gives me endless opportunities to use my crea...tive mind while also encouraging the analytical side of my thinking. I get to spend my days making spaces visually appealing, and what's not to love about that!" : She once participated in a World Record for longest string of consecutive Hershey's Kisses, an event which also raised money for the Children's Miracle Network. #meettheteam #designblendzteam #companyculture
Fishtown's Blair Garden features 18 luxury 3 bed, 3 bath single family homes. This project was designed as a Planned Unit Development (PUD) with a courtyard rain garden and parking. Our visualization team also produced virtual assets to pre-sell the homes before construction was complete. #realestate #architecture #philadelphia
Throwback to this video showcasing all the amenities of a luxury apartment building near NYC. The kicker? The building didn't exist yet! #realestate #visualization
The charming Valley Green Inn in Wissahickon Valley Park! Built in 1850, this structure has been saved from disrepair on more than one occasion. Did You Know? In 1901, a committee of Philadelphia women transformed the Inn into a signature roadhouse, serving light refreshments to park visitors. This group of women managed the property for the next few decades. Our visualization team is having fun with our Philly-based 3D virtual environment series. Any requests for what we... should visualize next? #virtualenvironment #3dartwork #philadelphia
Here's what is happening at Earl St, one of our design-build projects. Wall forms were erected on foundation footings that were previously poured. Now, rebar is placed horizontally and vertically in the wall, in a grid pattern. Rebar is woven every 16" to creating webs of rebar for strength in the concrete walls set in the wall forms. This wall rebar is being tied to the footing rebar every 16. Walls are poured using a pump truck, keeping concrete weight evenly throughout the entire pouring process. This is very important, as it keeps wall forms from blowing out from uneven weight distribution. Anchor bolts and corner hold downs are installed in the top of poured wall for securing wall sill plates and floor joists. #construction

Meet Jason! He started as an intern, and has been here full-time for 3 1/2 years. : He works on small scale single-family to large scale multi-family structures or luxury homes, as well as conducting preliminary feasibility studies. : "I love how I am always challenged and supported to learn as much as I canthe growth is incredible. I see myself as a life-long learner, and the culture and team here make sure that there is always something new to learn." ... : He is an Eagle Scout! Also, as an architecture student, one of our founders gave him valuable feedback that inspired him to hone his skills. #meettheteam #designblendzteam

At our Seville Street project, we're installing spray foam insulation into the third floor ceiling. Foam insulation is made up of two liquids that are kept separate until they are applied at the job site (by a qualified licensed spray foam installer). These two liquids travel through a heated hose and spray gun, where they're combined to create the foam. The foam expands within seconds to fill in all cavities and air gaps. Fun fact: Depending on the type of foam used, spray foam insulation can expand between 40 and 100 times upon application. #construction
Throwback to our Myrtlewood Street project from one year ago. We love building homes with great views of the Philly skyline!
OCF Realty recently posted about the history of Ridge Avenue disinvestment in the North Philly neighborhood of Francisville, and how those times are changing. Our team of architects designed a new mixed-use building with 24 units and ground floor retail to replace a long-empty lot in that corridor. #philadelphia #architecture #realestate #urbandesign http://www.ocfrealty.com//last-section-former-ridge-farmer
