Here is a nice photo shared from the historical collection of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Providence of God. The community, formed in Pittsburgh in 1922 to initially serve a Lithuanian immigrant population, has extended its ministerial reach to various locales around the world. Take care and have a great day!

On a recent visit, one of our staff members noticed this vintage basketball jacket in their parents' house. The jacket belonged to 'Coach Carolyn' who led the St. Boniface (North Side) girls' team during the late 1960s. What archival treasures are hiding in your home? Take care and have a great day!

We needed a break, we thought you needed one too In light of the recent trend to colorize black and white photos, we utilized #DeOldify during our lunch hour to colorize photos that had already been posted on our Facebook page. The interesting process allowed us to view these images in a new light, highlighting some details that we didn't notice before. We hope that you enjoy these ‘new’ views of some of our old images.... Take care and have an outstanding day!

Does anyone know this ca. 1954 student of Holy Trinity Elementary School, Pittsburgh (Hill District)? Well since we are starting to get a consensus in the comments below, we will confirm that this image is of a young Frederick Kittel. Around 1965 Kittel officially changed his name to August Wilson, a name that has resonated with the arts community ever since. Today would have been August Wilson's 75th birthday.
