October was a busy month for our garage guys! They inspected 67 of our vehicles and performed 68 oil changes! Lunch was on us today as a thank you for all of their hard work.

What a beautiful day to enjoy some pizza and snacks before our driver's afternoon runs! Thanks to our Mount Pleasant drivers for going above and beyond this week, especially in emergency situations!

At the end of every month, our Safety Coordinator gives out Safety Awards to one driver from each of our three terminals! These awards are based on our driver's safety scores which factor in speed, quick starts, harsh braking, and pre/post-trip inspections. Below are our winners from October! Keep up the great work!

The Westmoreland Intermediate Unit distributed 1,000 backpacks to students who face sudden unexpected situations. Each backpack contains a bag of toiletries, a bag of school supplies, and a blanket. We’re thankful we were able to contribute with our end of year rebate donation in 2019! Such a great initiative by the WIU!

Happy Muffin Monday! Our drivers receive muffins on the first Monday of each month to show our appreciation for their dedication and hard work. Can't get a bus full of kids to school on an empty stomach!

We had such a great time being in Mount Pleasant's Halloween Parade last night! Our employees did an AWESOME job decorating our spooky school bus.

DRIVER SPOTLIGHT! Our featured driver is Pauline Spillar! Years driving: Pauline has been driving a bus for 45 years! She first started in September of 1975. ... Favorite memory: One of Pauline's favorite grades to drive is Kindergarten. Whenever she had to undergo surgery unexpectedly, all of her Kindergarten students made/colored different pictures for her and dropped them off at the hospital! It was such a kind gesture of her students and their teacher. Favorite part about driving: Pauline loves seeing her students! She feels rewarded whenever her students listen to her and change their behavior in a positive manner! Pauline, thank you for your dedication! We are so lucky to have you.

As a part of National School Bus Safety Week, Mt. Pleasant Area High School practiced bus evacuations both Tuesday and Thursday morning! In the event of an emergency, it is crucial that students know how to properly and quickly evacuate the bus. They did a great job!

We took advantage of the beautiful weather today! It was a great day to enjoy a cookout with our drivers and monitors at each of our 3 terminals.

SCHOOL BUS SAFETY TIPS! - Flashing yellow lights mean the bus is about to make a stop and you should slow down, too. - You are to stay ATLEAST 10 feet back from a school bus until the flashing lights are on and it has come to a complete stop. ... - Flashing red lights and stop signs mean the bus is stopped and children may be entering or exiting the bus. - Passing a stopped school bus is illegal! - If you are traveling in the opposite direction of a stopped school bus, you are still required to stop if the road is less than four lanes. Make sure that you are doing your part in making sure that students are safe on the school bus!
