Hello all, I wanted to make a connection with all my dear and loyal customers to keep you informed of Dog-it-tude Grooming Studio's stauts in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Because all non-essential businesses, as defined by the state, are currently unable to conduct business until further notice, the shop will remain closed. The shop will reopen as soon as the Governor has deemed the danger passed. As you know, you are scheduled out for the year. When reopened, your sc...hedule will resume as planned. I will send a reminder text, as usual, a few days prior. Where possible (and probably imperfectly), I will fit the dogs who have gone the longest without grooming, in amongst any openings in the current schedule. I will contact you with availability. In the meantime, the best we can do for our pups is to keep up on brushing. If a bath is necessary, immediately follow the bath with hairdrying and brushing to the best of your ability. A high table or washing machine serves as a grooming table in a pinch. Do not leave them unattended for a second! Keep in mind your deamor as "groomer" and not "mommy or daddy" at this time is imperative to maintain control. Use a leash as a harness around the neck and under one front leg, not just around the neck. Do not try to cut out matts with scissors and do NOT attempt to cut near the eyes. It may be unattractive but your pup can still see. Keep eye crusting to a minimum by using a warm wet wash cloth weekly. It may be necessary to hold the cloth over the mess for a minute then gently wiping. The hair can pull out painfully in clumps so proceed very carefully and patiently. Cosmetic appearance is not a top priority at this time. If a matt has become so problematic to cause pulling or broken skin, contact your vet immediately. Commence fussing and playing when the groom is complete. On a personal note I am praying (to keep it short) for all of humankind and for my own patience and during this worldwide crisis. Of course, we think of our pet's grooming as a necessity but there are much bigger stakes at play right now. Please stay safe, find a way to stay sane and maintain patience as we all wait this out together. AND GIVE MY BABIES A LOT OF KISSES FOR ME!! I sincerely miss seeing you all.
