Hi there Super Awesome Facebook Friends! It's your friendly neighborhood principal. I wanted to take a moment to let you know you should have received two emails from me today. One was this wordy email, outlining what's been going on, the options you chose, etc... and an attachment of my Welcome Back that you couldn't open. The second email was the PDF attachment. I apologize for the two emails. FYI: A hard copy of the letter will be arriving as early as Satur...day. I also wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for their patience, understanding, grace, and support throughout these trying, unprecedented times. Never in my 25 years of teaching did I ever think, "I wonder what it would be like to teach during a pandemic?" I didn't learn that at Penn State. But here we are... getting ready for the 20-21 school year... doing our best... supporting each other... gearing up for our first day back. As I said in my email... and PDF, WE GOT THIS! Don't forget: We hope to see you at our drive-by Meet the Teacher/Distribution Event! It's going to be a physically distant, super fun time. Hi there Dormont Families and Friends. I hope you are having a wonderful summer. I miss all of your faces. Yesterday, the District released the Keystone Oaks 2020-2021 School Reopening Plan, which outlines the District's Educational Plan, as well as highlights some of the key components of the Health & Safety Plan. All Dormont Elementary families should have received the details via email, and we are asking everyone to fill out the Educational Preference Form by July 24. For ...your convenience... Hey everyone! As many of you know, we have five school expectations at Dormont Elementary. Our students are safe, responsible, respectful, kind, and here. On a daily basis, we have students that receive a blue ticket for demonstrating one or more of these expectations, and they become part of the Principal’s 200 Club. To recognize our Dormont students earning over 2500 blue tickets this past school year (2552, to be exact), I will be going Live on Facebook tomorrow at 10:30am to "celebrate". Mrs. Wareham and Mr. Jason will be there for the celebration and recognition. Don’t miss it!

What an awesome day! I’d say our Drop-Off/Pick-Up Event was a success! It felt like a socially distant party for our amazing kids, caregivers, and community. Thank you to everyone for stopping by to say goodbye. Special shout out to the Dormont Staffulty for helping make this event so special! Have a wonderful summer.
