Pleasured to have @sugar__pit as our November Flux Feature!! Huge credit to @jessiefalasco for helping out with the visuals. While you’re here, get to know a little bit about the man behind Sugar Pit, in his own words. My name’s Kian Stevens-Winston, I’m 21, and Sugar Pit has been my solo recording project since 2014. I currently do all my writing, recording, and mixing alone in my 3rd story Philadelphia apartment. I grew up in Rural Southern Illinois where I started writin...g songs at 15, teaching myself guitar and drums along the way. Ever since then, I have been doing everything myself, including cover art. My latest release, Defense Mechanism, is my most focused and dense body of work to date. I blend garage rock with orchestral strings, African polyrhythms with fuzz bass, and I threw in a little Midwest twang for good measure. It took me about a year and a half from start to finish and I really didn’t talk to people when I was making it. I got really neurotic alone in my room. Currently, I’m teaching music lessons (@kiansmusiclessons) and biking for Doordash for money. I’ve been listening to a lot of Black Midi and guided meditations. However, I generally feel somewhat uneasy. My favorite food is soft boiled eggs. In my free time I’m either watching NOVA on PBS, climbing trees, or arguing with you. New music soon!

Week 2 of October Flux Features and we have a playlist curated by @petty.bravo himself. Let his rotation, be your rotation, for the night, the week, or the whole month. Link in bio to check it out on Spotify!
We are so happy to present @petty.bravo for our October Flux Feature! Keep an eye out each Friday of this month for new content on this talented Drexel artist. Hip-hop artist Petty Bravo doesn’t color within the lines. A New York native raised by his Israeli immigrant parents, Bravo incorporates the sonic brightness of the Middle Eastern music he grew up on with the rhythmic and vocal delivery found in Mac Miller, Wiz Khalifa and Kid Cudi’s music that he grew to love. Petty Bravo relocated to Philadelphia in 2018 to study music technology at Drexel University and has since released a string of singles that focus on his relationship with hope, mental health and success. More music is on the way, including his debut album set to release in mid 2021
Last but not least, welcome our ‘20-21 Event Coordinator, Zoe! Hello everyone! I‘m Zoe and I’m Flux’s Event Coordinator for the 2020-2021 year. I’m a sophomore Entertainment and Arts Management student on the Performing Arts track. I’ve been planning live events since high school, and I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with Flux. Live music is something I love and although our events may look a *little* different, I am looking forward to this year. If you ever have any ideas, please feel free to reach out!
Next up, welcome our ‘20-21 Treasurer, Maria! Hey Fluxers! I’m Maria Prastos and I’m Flux’s new Treasurer. I’m a MIP Senior on the Business track. While I’m not necessarily a tech guru, I love live music! I’m really excited for this coming year and can’t wait to work with everyone. If you see me on campus (when we finally get there), feel free to stop and talk to me! I’m always interested in what everyone’s working on.
Next up, meet our Vice President, Ryan! ... Hey everyone! I'm Ryan Gerbman and I'm Flux's Vice President. I'm a junior and obsessed with live sound and concerts. As the tech guy for Flux, I am determined to put on amazing shows when the time comes. I play drums in a band called Brightbill (shameless plug ) and I've been playing drums since I was in 2nd grade. My other hobbies include hanging with friends, playing board games, golfing, and being sarcastic at the best times. I'm so excited for this year and can't wait to work with everyone!
Meet our new President, Will! Hello!! We’re gonna introduce the board over the next week, so I guess I’m up first. My name is Will Michael, I’m a sophomore, and I’m Flux’s president this year. I’ve been running tech for events since high school and creating music since I was young. Pictured here is my latest gear purchase, my favorite synth, and an obvious clout grab: the Moog Grandmother. With the help of our board and club, I’m super excited to have the resources and platform to help showcase some sweet Philly artists and more.
Welcome our new ‘20-21 E-board!
