The news today is that Rd's American Grill will be closing. We need more businesses and jobs in our area, not less! Let's hope something great takes it's place so there's not another vacant property.

The new store has Turkey Hill’s updated format and features touch-screen food ordering.

This is the most recent proposed layout for the shopping center. You'll notice that the big anchor store is under 67,000 Sq ft. That's good news for anyone who does NOT want a Walmart in the area (they are between 100,000- 200,000 Sq ft). This could be a department, grocery or large hardware store. Then there is at least one free standing store (Auto zone?) possibly 2 fast food restaurants (McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks?), and a large Gas station (Sheetz or Wawa). Then plenty of little shops that could be independent restaurants, hair salons, or really anything!

Are there any fans of BB's Grocery Outlet out there? Hands down, it's my favorite store! My usual routine is to shop there first and see what I can get for a bargain that week, then hit another grocery store for anything else I need. What I would give for an Aldi or Trader Joe's within 10 miles of my house! What shops, restaurants, or services would you like to see in Solanco? I'd love Aldi/ Trader Joe's, good Chinese delivery, and a real coffee house...or maybe a Dunkin Donuts! Oh, and a Wine and Spirits store :)

It may be difficult for the average person to understand, but pressuring townships to stand in the way of controlled retail and multi-family unit home growth is killing Lancaster County farmland.
