Please help us congratulate BSN graduates for a 95.47% NCLEX-RN exam first-time pass rate! These results are from October 1, 2019 - September 30, 2020. I want to congratulate our faculty and students for their dedication and hard work in achieving these impressive NCLEX-RN results especially during the coronavirus pandemic. Students and faculty had to abruptly transition to online learning and virtual clinical during the spring semester, which was no easy feat. I am very proud of them and these results. Sister Mary Meyers works with students one-on-one and in small groups to assist them with HESI testing, as well as any other aspect of nursing they seek assistance with. Sister Mary is here for students no matter the obstacle. I want them to seek me out early in their journey if they are struggling. My office, whether in person or now on Zoom, is a ‘judgment-free zone.’ I want every student to know that they have what it takes to enter this challenging and rewarding profession, and I will be with them every step of the way. I really feel that it is a blessing to do what we do as nurses. Acuity is higher than ever and the health care system needs nurses that have excellent critical thinking skills. I hope to encourage critical thinking and clinical judgment throughout my course, says Amber Kolesar, MSN, RN, CNE, CCRN-K, instructor and director of our Second Degree BSN program. Critical thinking can be a tough thing to teach in the classroom, though, so how does she approach it? I often use sc...enarios and try to get my students to think. I always say that your patient isn't going to hold up a sign telling you what is wrong! Read more at http://bit.ly/kolesarfeature.
